Over the next months Derek had been working hard on his house. He had hired people to build the house for him but he was working on a project. One he'd finally reveal today

"Mer, are you ready?" He asked and kissed her lips

"Yes, we're both ready. Ellis is quickly grabbing her backpack with her toys." Meredith explained

The two of them had slept together almost every single night, not wanting to miss out on each other. Even one night when Meredith was on call and Derek wasn't he went to the hospital and they slept together in her office for some hours while Addison and Mark watched Ellis

"Dewek! I gots my toys!" Ellis ran towards them

"Good, let's go to the car, I got something to show the two of you." Derek chuckled and carried Ellis outside and secured her in his car

Meredith got into the passenger seat, Derek put her chair in the back and drove off. They were really used to their own routines by now

Derek drove his car onto the ferry and helped both Ellis and Meredith out of the car. Ellis took a seat on her mom's lap and Derek pushed Meredith's wheelchair as the rocking boat made it a bit harder. Together they sat on the deck, looking out over the water until they arrived and got back in the car

"She fell asleep." Meredith chuckled as she looked at her daughter in the back of the car

"She's so cute." Derek looked in the rear mirror

"She is. Just a bit loud." Meredith chuckled

"Just like her mama." Derek squeezed her hand softly

Meredith placed her head against the window as she was pretty tired from working a lot the past week, Bailey had chased her because her administration wasn't done yet, causing her to work a lot overnight

"Are you tired?" Derek asked her

"Yeah.. Busy week." Meredith groaned

"When do you have your check up?" Derek asked her

"Monday." Meredith muttered

"Can I come or rather not?" Derek asked her

"You can, but you're not my neurosurgeon, okay? You're there as Derek." Meredith made it clear

"I will be just Derek." He promised her

"I love you." She whispered softly as they arrived at the cliff. "Derek?" She frowned, she hadn't seen anything from the house yet

"Yes?" He smiled, grinning a bit

He had made sure the whole house was one floor, several pretty and wide concrete paths leading over the cliff so Meredith had full access everywhere

"There's concrete." She smiled widely. "And I thought you wanted a multiple story house?"

"Before you were in my life, yes. Now I want this, for us to be here and you not having to worry about anything." Derek kissed her lips

He had hired several specialists to make sure it would all be perfect but also very detailed and pretty, just the way he wanted it to be

"Wow.." Meredith muttered, barely realizing what he had done

"But now we gotta surprise this little one before we can explore. Are you ready?" He asked Meredith as he lifted a sleeping Ellis in his arms

"Yes." Meredith smiled and followed him, wheeling over the path to the back of the house. She saw a whole playground where her daughter would be able to play

"And I hope she loves the treehouse, even if she's still a bit too small to play there the whole time." Derek explained

"Wake her up, she'll love it." Meredith reached for his hand and pulled him in for a kiss

"Ellie, wakey, wakey." Derek stroke his fingers through her hair and placed her in Meredith's lap

"Mama?" She frowned

"Hi monkey, look around you. Derek has an amazing surprise for you." Meredith giggled

"Woah?!" The girl's eyes grew wide. "Where are we?"

"We're at the cliff, monkey." Meredith smiled

"Swing!" She started running towards the swingset. "Dewek, help!"

"I think your mommy can help you." He smiled as Meredith wheeled up and helped her daughter out

"Mama! High!" Ellis giggled

After a while of playing and some more exploring they decided to take a look inside. It wasn't completely finished yet but Meredith suddenly couldn't keep it dry any longer

"Oh Mer-" Derek started to worry

"Sorry, it's just- It's your house!" She said

"The house I want you to be able to access. And I hope you'd wanna live here with me." He reached for her hand and squeezed it

"Yes Derek, of course." She nodded, wiping her tears

"Thank you." He kissed the top of her head softly

"You mean so much to me, you have no idea how much this touches me." Meredith said softly

"I wanna spend the rest of my life with you." Derek said, kissing her lips

"Dewek!! Kissing is gwosssss!" Ellis giggled and pulled them apart. "I gots a room?" She gasped

Derek looked at Meredith who nodded with a smile in agreement

"If you'd like to, yes. A bedroom and playroom." He smiled as he saw the girl jumping up and down in excitement
