"Mer? Are you going to work?" Mark asked as he saw her on the couch, cuddled into Derek's arms

"No." Meredith quickly answered, not moving at all

Derek gave Mark a sad smile, both of them wer worried. She had refused to go to the hospital ever since that drunk driver was brought in

"Can I get us some food?" Derek suggested

"You can. I'm not hungry." She muttered, not moving either

Derek sighed, he didn't wanna move her and leave her here on her own as she just stared ahead of her

"Mama! Mama!" Ellis yelled as she ran inside, finally Meredith started moving

"What's wrong, princess?" She asked, exhaustion hearable in her voice

"Can we play?" The girl asked

"Carolyn and Christopher are coming to pick you up, El." Meredith said softly

"But.. pwease?"

"Sure monkey, go get your dolls, we can play here."

That's basically how their day went. As soon as Ellis was gone she went to bed and hadn't gotten up

"Mer?" Derek walked in after he had gotten her some food

But Meredith was asleep. He was glad she catched some sleep but she looked bad and he was worried. He quickly strapped her into her braces as she had refused to wear them last night. Her catheter was still empty and then he tucked her in, cuddling next to her while holding her tight into his strong arms

Hours later Meredith was sitting on the couch watching tv until the others finally arrived home

"Hey." Addison carefully said and walked up to her friend on the couch for a hug, followed by Mark

"You popped!" Meredith smiled honestly, seeing Addison's stomach visible now but her eyes gave away how sad she really was

"I did. Must have happened overnight." Addison giggled and took a seat next to Meredith while Mark and Derek escaped to the kitchen and openly could speak about their concerns around Meredith

"Do you wanna know if it's a girl or a boy?" Meredith asked carefully

"Mark wants to know, I'm not sure yet." Addison smiled

"You'll have a beautiful baby no matter what." Meredith hugged her friend

"What about you? How are you doing?" Addison took this moment

"Fine." Meredith shrugged

"You're clearly not fine." Addison raised her eyebrow, showing she didn't believe any of this

"I just don't wanna go to the hospital as long as he's there, okay?" Meredith pulled back, curling into a ball

"I understand you don't wanna go there and no one will push you.. but.. you can't do this to yourself, you can't lock yourself up for what someone else did, honey."

"I just.. I wanted to suggest helping Derek to get some stuff moved and I wanted to do so many things but every time I think back about that guy.. I touched him.. I touched him and I was about to save him while he- Finn died next to me! Ellis lost her daddy because of him!" Meredith was on the verge of crying as she tried to remain calm and quiet but her voice was shaking and she was slowly falling apart, but trying not to

"Mer.." Addison teared up, grabbing her friend's hand, meanwhile Derek and Mark were close, not sure if they had to step up or not

"She lost her daddy-" Meredith sobbed weakly

"I'm so sorry." Addison wrapped her arms around the blonde

Meredith's sobs slowly slowed down again after a little while, she stared ahead of her again, feeling dirty for touching him while he was brought in

"Hey.." Derek walked up to the two woman

"Hi.." Meredith muttered, completely exhausted

"Come here.." Derek sat down next to her and wrapped his arm around her small frame

Meredith dropped herself into Derek's arms, relaxing mostly as she felt safe and warm, exhausted from crying and thinking

"Maybe we should go to the cliff tomorrow? We can take Ellis with us, bring some food, she can see her new room while it's almost finished.." Derek suggested as he had kept working on his house

"Okay.." Meredith muttered absolutely exhausted

"But first you should take a nap. Can I carry you to your bed?" Derek asked

"Yeah.. just bring my chair, please." Meredith asked

Derek scooped her up and carried her to her bedroom, placing her underneath the blankets and tucking her in, he quickly went back to collect her wheelchair and wheeled it in its spot next to the bed. He then joined Meredith in the bed and wrapped his arms around her, holding her tight as she struggled with her own thoughts

"Just try to close your eyes, I'll stay here, okay?" He brushed his fingers over her temple

"Hmm.." Meredith softly moaned

"Enjoy your nap." He whispered softly and kept watching her until she finally fell asleep a while later. He was terrified that these events would trigger her PTSD again so he kept awake and kept a close eye on her so he'd be able to intervene whenever needed
