"Finally.." Meredith muttered as she was exhausted after bathing Ellis and putting her in bed

"Your feet are soaking wet." Deren frowned

"Hmm.. I still need to shower as well." She sighed

"I- Wanna take one together?" He asked her

"Oh.." Meredith whispered. "I don't know."

"You don't have to, I was only offering." He reminded her

"Not- You know.. Just a shower, right?" She asked him

"Yes of course, Meredith." He smiled softly at her. "You don't have to."

"Yeah." She nodded, carefully looking up at him. "Yes I wanna shower together."

"Let's go then, before you get cold." He said and followed her. This was the first time he saw her bathroom even if he had lived in the house for a few months now

"It's not sexy at all-" Meredith groaned as she started to remove her socks

"I find you very sexy just the way you are." He smiled, offering to help her in a loving way

"If you think so." Meredith muttered, very harsh on herself right now

"I am very sure." Derek nodded and kissed her lips softly. "You are beautiful, Meredith." He reminded her and she started to remove her pants while he did the same

"A shame you didn't remove your shirt first." Meredith quietly said, she wanted to flirt but it felt a bit weird to do so

"You prefer my chest maybe?" He chuckled

Meredith's cheeks were flushing as she smiled softly in Derek's direction and he helped her to remove her pants completely. He then saw some very visible scars over her left side of her body

"I'm sorry, I know it looks awful. We never should have done this-" She quickly grabbed her towel and covered herself up with it

"Hey, don't you say that." Derek cupped her cheek and kissed her lips. "I was only looking because I had no idea. This doesn't change a thing about how beautiful you are."

"It gets worse.." Her voice was shaking

"I don't care, Meredith. I really don't care." He breathed in her neck, hugging her tight

"I'm so scared of my own body.." Meredith suddenly admitted. "I never dare to look, I shower with my eyes closed."

"Let's explore together, in a careful and loving way. Nothing to be ashamed off, not at all." Derek tried to convince her, seeing how this made her so vulnerable

When he met her she was so strong, at the hospital he had never seen her vulnerable side, he admired her work, maybe even more since she was doing it all after such a big loss. But now his heart was breaking for her. She looked beautiful in his eyes, no matter what. But hearing she showered with her eyes closed almost made him want to scoop her up and just hug her and never let go

"I won't overstep. Tell me when you don't like something." He said softly

Meredith nodded her head, slowly opening her eyes

"I'll remove your shirt and unclip your bra, is that okay?" He asked and received another nod

As he slowly undressed her he saw the other scars. It was all scary and he knew the scars on the parts where she still had feeling must have caused her lots of discomfort.

"Let me get onto the bench, I'll sit on the side so you can sit next to me." She said, it'd be nicer if they sat at the same height

Derek watched as Meredith transferred to the bench and scooted to the side. Her arms were so strong, even more visible now she wasn't wearing any clothes

Derek removed his shirt quickly and took a seat next to her, the warm water running over both of them

Meredith cuddled into Derek's chest, her hand rubbing over his bare skin

"Thank you." She whispered

"No, I wanna thank you. I like you a lot, Meredith." Derek kissed her head softly as they sat in the shower

Eventually he washed her hair in a loving way and then both of them got out of the shower and dressed into their warm pajamas

"Do you wanna spend the rest of the evening watching movies on the couch?" Derek suggested

"Would you be okay if we watch them in bed, please?" Meredith asked

"Of course." He smiled as she wheeled out of the bathroom

"I'll grab the drinks, can you grab some snacks?"

"On the way." He nodded and went to the kitchen, grabbing Meredith's favorites and brought it all up to the bedroom

"Thank you, Derek. You're so sweet and patient." She muttered in his arms once they were laying down together. "I really appreciate you.. I- I like you a lot."

She couldn't say love you right away, it would need time, she hoped Derek would be okay with that

"I like you too, Meredith. Thank you for trusting me, let's just see how things go, no need to put pressure on either of us or Ellis." He kissed her head and covered her with the blanket as they started their movie together
