Meredith was glad to finally be home. Derek pushed her inside, her leg was elevated on the legrest

It was bandaged, it shouldn't bother her that much again from now on, which was something she was happy for

"Mama, can we play?" Ellis asked her

"We can but maybe you gotta bring some dolls to the couch while I rest a bit? We can place the baby's down for a nap also." Meredith suggested

"Kay!" Ellis giggled and ran off

"How are you feeling?" Derek asked, knowing she doesn't feel her leg but earlier the meds had made her slow and tired

"Slowly regaining some energy but I think I'll take a nap in a bit, Ellie will need one too."

"I might join the two of you, why don't we get into bed instead of the couch?" He suggested

"El, take your dolls to the big bed please." Meredith yelled

"Kay!" She heard Ellis respond and wheeled herself to the bedroom

"Want me to help you get changed first?" Derek asked

"No Derek, you're way too sweet but I'm fine." Meredith assured him and removed the shoe on her good leg. She transferred carefully onto the bed and removed her sweater. "Join me please."

"I'll grab us something to drink first, remember what your doctor told you." He said and disappeared for a few minutes

Ellis ran inside with all her dolls, placing them all down on the bed

"Mama, where's Dewrek?" She asked

"He's coming, he's getting us something to drink, monkey." Meredith said and held one of Ellis' dolls

"Gots to take good care of her!" Ellis said sternly and started playing

"I think we should put the babies down, we can all watch a movie together, would you like that?" Meredith asked

"Yes!! Minions!" Ellis giggled

"That sounds amazing, princess. Let's do that." Meredith agreed with a soft chuckle

"Juice!" Derek walked in with their drink cups

"Thank you." Meredith smiled and kissed his lips softly as she pulled him in for a hug and kiss

...

The next week went smoothly, Meredith's leg was recovering well so she was allowed to start working again, which she was happy for.. but not today..

They had raised a benefit, because the hospital needed the money and the attention it brings

So she was getting ready for that now

"Derek?" She yelled for him

"Yes?" He walked inside her room

"I don't wanna go." She groaned

"Did you finally realize I'll be the one raising the most money?" Derek teased

"You? Never. I'm sure I'll raise more money." Meredith dared him

"Deal, let's try." He chuckled and kissed her lips. "You look amazing."

"Isn't it too tight?" Meredith asked, usually never wearing these kind of dresses

"It's perfect. You're perfect." He kissed her again. "Ellis is having her snack, she's excited to go see mom and dad."

"She always is, she loves Carolyn and Christopher so much." Meredith smiled, finishing with her makeup, nothing fancy just a little mascara, some blush and lipstick

"I'm sure I'll lose now." He teased and continued preparing Ellis' bag

Meredith put on some flats, not able to deal with heels yet after her surgery and watched as Ellis walked up to her

"Mama, you look so pretty!" The six year old girl smiled

"Thank you so much, princess." Meredith giggled as Ellis had insisted on wearing her princess dress to fit in with Meredith and Derek

"Are you ready?" Derek walked inside, smiling at how gorgeous Meredith looked

"I am." Meredith smiled, following Ellis to the car. "You'll be staying with Carolyn and Christopher for the night." Meredith explained to her daughter.

"I know mama." She giggled softly

Meredith and Derek dropped Ellis off at Derek's parents and drove off to the hospital. Derek helped Meredith out of the car as the slightly longer dress made it a bit harder for her. They entered while holding each other's hands

"What is going on here?" Meredith frowned as there was entertainment everywhere

"I have no idea." Derek frowned as he looked around, walking further tk where Addison and Mark were

"Hey guys." Addison smiled softly, drinking a glass of water

"Hey. Richard's been ordering us to go talk to raise money but we wanted to wait for you." Mark explained

"I'm not looking forward to this." Meredith rolled her eyes

"No one does." Addison sighed and started chatting with Meredith while the boys walked off and started talking to the guests

"How are you feeling?" Meredith asked Addison

"Bloated." She chuckled softly. "Sad I can't even have some wine, I need it to get through this nightmare."

"I'll drink for the both of us." Meredith joked. "I hate doing these things."

"Let's go together." Addison said and together they had tried to convince some people, but the night was still young..

Urgh ive been writing on this chapter for days and im still not happy with it but i wanted to get something out. Im hoping to get some writing done this weekend
