"Ellie, baby.. Can you sit up on my lap? You gotta keep your eyes covered while we go find uncle Mark." She said as soon as she helped her daughter out of the car

"Otay!" She giggled and climbed up her mom's lap, covering her eyes

"Na-ah! You will cheat." Derek laughed and tied a piece of clothing around her little head so she couldn't cheat

Meredith wheeled her daughter inside, spotting Mark who remained quiet

She positioned herself right in front of the new trampoline that was digged into the ground so it would be safer and easier to check with Meredith

"Open your eyes." Meredith giggled as she let her daughter see her present, Ellis giggled loudly as she saw Mark starting to jump up and down

"Twampowine!" She gasped and launched herself off' her mother's lap and joined Mark

"Happy birthday, princess." Mark hugged her tightly to his chest

"Thank you! Thank you!" She giggled

"Happy birthday, sweetheart. We love you so, so much." Addison joined them

"Thank you auntie Addie." The girl smiled

"Mommy join us!" Ellis giggled

"Give me a minute, princess." Meredith chuckled and transferred into the trampoline

Derek held her a bit from behind so there would be no pressure on her spine but even though everyone jumped carefully it still wasn't pleasant for her

"Think we gotta have some cake-" Derek said as he noticed Meredith was getting uncomfortable after a few minutes on the trampoline

"Yes!" Ellis giggled and jumped off the trampoline

Derek lifted Meredith and placed her back in her wheelchair

The two of them headed inside, seeing Mark cutting up cake

Meredith had been doing a tea party with her daughter, her legs were shaking in front of her so Derek went to grab a pillow for both her knees and her back

"Thanks." She smiled as he returned

"Mama, thank you!" Ellis giggled, hugging her mom tightly

"No problem, sweetie. I hope you had a great birthday." Meredith hugged Ellis tight, so proud of her daughter. "Mommy and dada are so proud of you, sweetie."

"I hads gweat pawty." Ellis muttered, clearly getting tired

"What would you think of going to bed and watching movies?" Meredith suggested

"Can I sweep with you?" Ellis asked her mom

"Of course, monkey." Meredith kissed Ellis' head

"Is Dewek coming too?" She asked quietly

"Do you want Derek to come or rather not?" Meredith asked her daughter

"Yes he can come." She smiled. "Dewek, you wanna come?" Ellis asked him

"Of course, as long as that's okay for you." He smiled, feeling honored

"Gots to show you Moana!" Ellis told him and tucked at his hand

"Wait, your momma has to come." Derek chuckled and lifted Meredith into her wheelchair

"Night night, uncle Mark and auntie Addie!"

She fixed her legs and joined them but quickly stopped to hug Mark and Addison before

"Thanks guys, I'm so grateful, she had an amazing day."

"You're welcome. We love doing everything we can for that little munchkin." Mark smiled and hugged Meredith tight

"Are you okay?" Addison asked her, wanting to check on her

"Yeah.. It's hard.. But I'm fine." Meredith admitted

"We don't buy your fines anymore, come talk to us if you want." Mark said softly

"I will." She nodded softly and wheeled off, wheeling towards her own bedroom where Derek and Ellis were laughing along

"Dewek!!!!" Ellis giggled

"What's the magic word?" He laughed and tickled her

"Pwease!" Ellis squealed

"There you go." Derek laughed and let go

"I see you guys are having fun." Meredith laughed

"Mama! Tickle Monster!" Ellis climbed up her mother's lap and attempted to tickle her

"Ahhh!" Meredith smiled but her daughter's tickles weren't very effective underneath her injuryline

"Let's watch the movie mommy!" Ellis jumped off and into the bed

"I think we gotta change into our pajamas first." Meredith smiled and helped Ellis first, then she got changed herself, wearing her leg braces

"Mama! Huwwy!" She giggled

"I think you're a little impatient." Derek laughed as he put the bed ready for the three of them, Meredith getting into the bed

"Thanks." Meredith smiled

"Let's watch some movies." Derek smiled, a bit cautious of how he had to behave around Ellis and Meredith, not wanting to push anything on them

"Mama, I want tight cuddles." Ellis whispered softly

"Come here, princess." Meredith pulled her tighter while scooting closer into Derek's arms

"Lof u, mama." Ellis whispered softly

"I love you so, so much."
