Meredith had had a long day at work. Today the new interns arrived so she had prepared herself for many questions

"Doctor Grey?" Helm walked to her

"Yes Helm?" Meredith turned around, seeing her with some interns behind her

"Miss Smith is back in the ER, do you have a minute to come check on her?" Helm asked

"I'm coming." Meredith nodded and they both headed to the emergency room. Meredith often avoided this place since it was so crowded and small

"Doctor Grey, she's complaining again about her stomach." Hunt said

"I want a scan of her whole body to see if the cancer is back." Meredith ordered and watched as Helm and her interns wheeled her off

"If you want I can keep an eye on your patient." Owen offered

"No it's okay, I wanna see her scans." Meredith said and wheeled behind the other doctors, installing herself at the screen while Helm gets the patient ready

"Will she do anything at all?" One of the interns asked another intern

"Excuse me?" Helm turned to face them. "Out, now." She said and got the patient ready

Meredith took a deep breath, instead wanting to focus on her patient

"Why did you say that? And do you have any idea Dr Grey could hear you? While she's the best General surgeon I know?" Helm confronted the intern

"I-" The intern started

"Leave it, you're on scut. Go." Helm said and joined Meredith in the control room.

"Thanks." Meredith smiled softly at Helm before the two went to focus on their patient

Meredith was stuck in traffic after work. She was completely worn out from the day when suddenly an ambulance passed by

Flashback

"Meredith? Meredith, is that you?" She suddenly recognized Ben's voice as he and Bailey had been married for a few years now

"Finn-" Meredith muttered as she was barely awake

"I'm sorry Meredith, we're doing what we can." He muttered as finally some doctors arrived as they had been called for an emergency

"Mer?" Owen gasped as he saw his co worker

"Please check out Finn- Please-" Meredith begged

"Was Ellis with you?" Owned asked as he moved to help Meredith after realizing Finn had already passed away. "Are you in pain?"

"Ellie's with Mark.. And- And I can't feel my legs, my back hurts and my head." She muttered, trying to turn her head again to check on her husband

"No, no. You can't move Meredith." Owen sharted to stabilize her

"Finn- Is he-" Meredith couldn't say it out loud

"I'm sorry." Owen nodded sadly

"No.. He can't- I love him so much!" Meredith cried

End of flashback

Meredith was upset, she didn't wanna think of this, she felt it getting harder to breathe but managed to drive up to the house

"Mer?" Mark knocked on her window, he had no idea how much time had passed by since she had parked her car

"S-Sorry-" Meredith started crying

"Hey-" Mark quickly climbed in the car and hugged her. "What's wrong?"

"I had to think of Finn." Meredith shook her head, she had tried therapy a lot but had quit multiple times

"Do you wanna come inside and cuddle with Ellis before she goes to bed or do you need some time here?" Mark asked, trying to ignore that Ellis had just spotted her mom's car through the window

"I'll come inside." Meredith took a deep and shaky breath

"Need a hand?" Mark asked as she had been working a lot today so he assumed she'd be sore

"Can you lift me really quick?" She asked, still not seeing Ellis, otherwise she might have never agreed

Mark quickly lifted her in her wheelchair and the two made their way over to the front door

"Hi monkey!" Meredith spotted Ellis and waved, quickly heading inside

"Mama! Mama!" Ellis ran full speed to her mom

"Oh monkey, I missed you so much." Meredith opened her arms and let Mark place her daughter in her lap

"Missed you too, mama! Can I sweep in the big bed?" Ellis gasped

"Well.. it's the weekend, so yes you can." Meredith smiled widely

"Can we go now?" Ellis asked with wide eyes

"Go say night night to everyone first." Meredith chuckled at her daughter's enthousiasm

"Night night!!" She ran to hug Addison, Derek and Mark

"Night guys, thanks for watching her." Meredith smiled

"Do you need dinner? Mom made us some extras." Mark offered

"Not yet, thanks." Meredith smiled and they wheeled off to Ellis' bedroom to collect all the girls' stuffies

"So happy mama!"

"And now it's time to brush our teeth." Mereditrh said as they had moved all Ellis' stuffies

They headed to their shared bathroom where Meredith wheeled underneath the sink and got Ellis' toothbrush ready, both of them got ready for bed and into their favorite pajamas

Meredith wheeled up to her bed, she was eager to lay down after such a long day

"Papa!" Ellis grabbed Fin's picture. It was a picture of him and Ellis

"Yeah." Meredith breathed, watching how her daughter interacted with his picture. She started telling him all about her day

"Ca-lyn said I have the most pwetty hair, just like mommy!" She kept going

Meredith could never get tired of this, but she kept hoping and imagining how life would be if he'd be here. How they'd be watching a movie on the couch and how he's make sure both of them were wrapped into his strong hold

"Mama gots to say night night too!" Ellis said after kissing and hugging the frame

"Oh.. Night, night Finn. I love you." Meredith whispered and also had to put a soft kiss on the frame as Ellis pushed it almost into Meredith's face

"Night night, papa. Luf." Ellis placed a final kiss before placing the picture back. "Mama, cuddles!"

"Many, many cuddles." Meredith took a deep breath and wrapped her arms around her daughter as Ellis could choose the movie. "Mommy and papa love you so, so much."

"Luf too." Ellis whispered and they started watching the movie
