'You sure this is the correct place?' Zadhea gestured using her right hand while holding the candle in her left.

Michael gave her a brief nod. He was the mute and deaf knight she met not so long ago.

Zadhea nodded back before pointing at the window and motioning, 'We'll climb in.'

Michael gave her an okay gesture. He bent low, bracing himself while letting Zadhea scramble onto his back. Using him as a ladder, she grabbed the window and lifted herself further until she managed to set foot on the window sill.

She helped Michael climb as well. After they successfully jumped inside, Zadhea took a moment to observe the surroundings.

It was an old storeroom. There were lots of papers scattered everywhere. It looked more like a giant dustbin than a storeroom.

Zadhea's eyes lit up in delight. She felt like she discovered a priceless treasure upon seeing the dusty papers. Using the candle, she began to pick them up. Her laser-like eyes ran through the papers briefly before she put them into the bag she brought.

Michael did the same. He didn't bother to read them like she did. Instead, he directly threw them into Zadhea's bag a little carelessly. However, Zadhea didn't mind his reckless behavior. She was too excited to get mad at anything.

Suddenly, Zadhea heard the sound of footsteps echoing nearby, which made her heart race as she panicked. She blew out the candle reflexively and hid in a dark corner, not even trying to breathe, her full attention on the sound.

Michael was surprised by her behavior. Sensing something was wrong, he also hid in the same place beside her.

They waited for the owner of the sound to come inside, but to their relief, no one entered the storeroom. Zadhea tapped on Michael's knee, signaling him that they should go back. He nodded obediently.

They climbed down the window without making a noise, appearing like thieves.

"Stop and turn around!" Before they could take five steps, someone's voice rang, breaking the heavy silence of the night.

Zadhea stopped in her steps instantly. She swallowed a mouthful of saliva. 'Damn! We're doomed!'

"What's wrong, brother?" She questioned in her male voice as she turned around, only to freeze in shock upon recognizing him.

Ferdinand! That monster!

The man was stunned as well but only for a brief moment. Smirking widely, he ran his eyes over her body, from head to toe, and... his gaze lingered on her chest.

Zadhea narrowed her eyes, giving him a cold look. "Where are you looking?"

Ferdinand laughed hysterically like a villain in a drama. "Your chest is a little bigger for a man or... am I turning gay?"

He extended his hand towards her body with the intention of touching her chest. Becoming furious, Zadhea slapped his forearm hard until it became red and swollen.

"Grrr!" The man growled, fury replacing his lust. "You son of a bitch!" He raised his hand to hit her, but Michael quickly grabbed his arm, stopping him in time.

"I saw you climb the window! You stole the government papers! Ready to face the consequences for your crimes!" Ferdinand barked, enraged as he called out to his guards.

"Then take us to the king." Zadhea gave him a look filled with mockery. "He'll decide our punishment."

Ferdinand gritted his teeth, his anger flaring. "No! My father is the one in charge of farmers' taxes so I have the right to punish you! I'm the future exchequer! I'm going to punish you!"
