Alethea's POV:

"Are you sure the Witches can't see us?" Stella asked, a doubtful look on her face as we walked through the tunnels.

"Tecna downloaded the latest anti-detection spell," Bloom pointed out confidently, her trust in Tecna's skills unwavering. Despite her assurance, a nagging feeling gnawed at the back of my mind. Something didn't feel right.

Knut suddenly halted, and I shot him a questioning look as to why he stopped walking. "Knut, what is it?"

"A monster," Knut whispered urgently, pointing towards two creatures at the end of the corridor, the same monsters that had attacked Alfea. "I don't think it can see us, though."

Relief washed over me as I realized the anti-detection spell was working. "So the spell works."

"Honestly, can that monster be any more disgusting? Ew!" Stella grimaced at the creature, while I could only deadpan.

"Shh!" Knut hushed Stella. "Wait here." He pushed a brick in the wall, revealing a secret passage. "This will lead us to the Witches' dorm room. They're probably there. Come on."

Following Knut's lead, we entered the dorm room, exhaling in relief when we found it empty.

"No Witches here," Stella observed, scanning the room with a keen eye.

"If I hid the ultimate power, where would it be?" Bloom wondered aloud, a thoughtful expression on her face. It was a valid question, but given their penchant for drama, I suspected it wouldn't be easy to find.

"The royal faculty lounge, perhaps?" I suggested, and Knut's eyes lit up in recognition.

"I know how to get to the lounge," Knut said, pointing towards a door that hopefully led to the lounge room. "That way."

Bloom opened the door but quickly closed it again after peeking inside. "There are monsters everywhere. Even with the anti-detection spell, we shouldn't go that way."

"We can try the kitchen," Knut suggested. "I always snuck in there for cookies and milk. It's right through the secret mirror door."

"Didn't we learn something about mirror doors in Intro to Dark Magic?" Brandon suddenly asked, his curiosity piqued.

"Yeah," Silas nodded, his expression unreadable as he contemplated the potential dangers ahead. "They're likely to be traps."

"Right, traps," Brandon repeated, his tone serious as if committing the information to memory.

"We could forget about the witches and go for the cookies," Knut suddenly proposed, his enthusiasm for the sweet treats evident. My friends and I exchanged incredulous looks, momentarily stunned by his suggestion. "Come on, they're really good."
