Alethea's POV:

"Bloom!"

Silence.

I let out a sigh of exasperation when Bloom didn't respond. My brows furrowed as I watched her stare down into the well, her expression distant and lost in thought. I couldn't help but notice the way she seemed so wrapped up in whatever was occupying her mind. A mischievous smile crept onto my lips as an idea popped into my head. I raised my hand, and with a playful flick of my fingers, I tapped her forehead. Sure enough, it worked—I finally had her attention.

"Ow..." Bloom whined, rubbing her forehead and dropping the coin she had been holding, which clinked against the stone before splashing into the water. She shot me a half-hearted glare, though I could tell she wasn't too mad. "What was that for?"

"What did you wish for?" I asked, my voice sweet and innocent, though the glint in my eye gave away my curiosity as the coin disappeared beneath the surface of the well.

"I can't tell you that," Bloom teased, her lips curving into a playful smile. "Or else my wish won't come true."

"Right," I replied, a knowing smile tugging at my mouth as I crossed my arms. "Does it have to do with someone with blonde hair and blue eyes?"

Musa's grin widened as she caught on, her eyes lighting up in mischief as she glanced at Bloom. "By the look on her face, I'm sure it does." She raised an eyebrow as Bloom's cheeks flushed a deep shade of red. "Blooom?"

Bloom cleared her throat, trying to act casual, but I could see the way she was squirming with embarrassment. "Brandon wants to go on a walk," she said, shrugging like it was no big deal. "What do you think that means?"

"Yo, Bloom." Musa shot her a teasing grin. "I don't know what going on a walk with a boy on Earth means, but in my realm, when your crush asks you out, we usually call it a date."

I grinned and nudged her side, adding, "Isn't it called a date on Earth too?"

Bloom tried to look annoyed, but the smile tugging at her lips betrayed her. "It is."

"Well, she can't go anyway." Stella frowned, and the rest of us turned to her, curious. She sighed dramatically before explaining, "He asked her less than seventy-two hours in advance."

"Come on, Stel!" I whined, shaking my head in disbelief. "He was just being spontaneous."

"I have to agree with Stella," Tecna said, giving me a side glance as I pouted. "Spontaneity is overrated. Advance planning is a sign of respect."

"And pretending to have a busy social calendar is a sign of self-respect," Stella pointed out, wrapping an arm around Tecna's shoulders. Tecna didn't look too thrilled about the sudden contact but didn't push her off either. "Besides, what kind of cheap date is going on a walk? Walking totally limits the choice of dating footwear."
