I had my exam today and get my grade tomorrow. Pray for me—if I fail, I'll get kicked out of my course and will probably end up publishing a new book called "How Not to Do Anything." :D

Alethea's POV:
Rain poured relentlessly on the day we lost someone who meant so much to us. The sound of it was soft yet unyielding, like nature itself was mourning with us. I couldn't put into words what I felt—was it even a feeling? It was more like an emptiness, a hollow ache where emotions used to be.
I felt... lost.
Around me, grief took on many shapes. Some cried freely, their tears blending with the rain. Others turned inward, their sorrow masked by quiet expressions or distant stares.
And then there was anger.
"She can't be dead!" Timmy's voice broke through the rain like a crack of thunder, sharp and raw. Everyone around him froze, stepping back instinctively—everyone except me. "She's just trapped!" he shouted, his desperation clawing at the hope we all clung to but didn't dare say aloud.
Riven stepped forward, gently placing a steadying hand on Timmy's shoulder. "It's okay, everyone," he said, his voice calm yet heavy. "Just let it out."
"Tecna was... a great fairy," Flora whispered, her words soft and trembling. Tears sparkled in her eyes, falling like the rain around us.
Aisha turned away, her posture rigid as she tried to mask her pain. "And she saved the entire Realm of Tides with her sacrifice," she said, her voice barely audible, as though saying it out loud made it more real.
Bloom stood motionless, her hands clenched at her sides as silent tears traced paths down her cheeks. "She always had so much hope in her eyes," she murmured, her voice fragile yet full of love.
"Yeah..." Musa added with a faint, bittersweet smile. "Especially when she was trying to tell one of her jokes."
"I wish I'd laughed more," Stella choked out, her voice breaking as she buried her face in her hands. Her sobs were raw, unrestrained, and they echoed in my heart.
Bloom reached out to comfort her, but her own hands trembled as she wiped at her face. "Me too," she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper.
I couldn't stay. The weight of their grief—and mine—was too much to bear. Quietly, I stepped away, finding shelter beneath a tall tree. I sank down at its base, pulling my knees to my chest. The rain continued to fall, mixing with the tears that streamed down my face.
The friend we lost.
The friend I lost.
Grief is so complicated. It's like a storm, swirling with anger, guilt, and sadness so deep it feels like it could swallow you whole. But for me, there was something else. Something quieter but no less painful.
