Alethea's POV:
Solaria.
Solaria is the realm of the Sun, the Moon, and the Stars, perhaps the brightest planets in the entire Magic Dimension. It is a land bathed in perpetual sunlight, where rain is a rare and almost mythical occurrence.
It's home.
I pulled my suitcase behind me as I walked through the majestic courtyard of the Solarian palace, the familiar sights of the palace grounds enveloping me in comfort. The vibrant colors and endless sunlight made everything feel alive, and I found myself momentarily tuning out Stella's excited ramblings about what we could possibly do now that we were on break. I looked down at the white pigeons scattered across the cobblestone path, and a smile tugged at my lips as I took careful steps to avoid accidentally kicking them.
"It's good to be home," Stella breathed out, and we paused in front of the grand palace doors, our steps faltering as I glanced at Stella. She seemed different—like there was something weighing her down, something behind the smile she wore. Ever since King Radius and Queen Luna's divorce, she had been struggling, hiding her emotions behind a facade of cheerfulness. And I knew she was struggling more than she let on.
The heavy golden doors of the palace creaked open, and my lips curled into an excited smile as I spotted King Radius. Before he could fully process what was happening, Stella and I dropped our suitcases and rushed into his arms, embracing him tightly.
"How I've missed you both," King Radius chuckled warmly, wrapping his arms around us and pulling us into a bear hug. "The palace was quiet without you two." Stella and I exchanged a knowing glance, both of us trying to hide our grins. We always managed to fill the palace with noise—more so Stella than me. I just followed her lead, always swept up in her whirlwind of excitement.
"It's good to be back," I said softly, my smile gentle. "I've missed you."
Before King Radius could respond, Stella grabbed my hand and began pulling me inside. "Let's go to our room!" she said eagerly, catching me off guard.
"But Stella!" I protested, a little out of breath. "What about our suitcases?"
"The servants will take care of it," she replied matter-of-factly, continuing to drag me along as if nothing else mattered. We arrived at our room, and as the door closed behind us, I couldn't help but smile, the familiar feel of the space instantly comforting. No matter how much I loved Alfea, it was always good to return to Solaria, to feel safe and at peace without the constant worries of the witches or school. It was just me, Stella, and the warmth of the Sun.
"Thea!" Stella called out, snapping me out of my thoughts. She waved a box in the air with a playful smile on her face. "Look what I found!"
Curious, I walked over to her, my eyes widening as I saw what was inside the box—a collection of old photographs and trinkets, a box filled with memories. Stella gave me a sad, soft smile. "I remember that." Her voice was almost a whisper. And so did I. How could I forget? The memories inside that box were ones I could never shake, the ones that had shaped me into who I was today.
