Alethea's POV:

I frowned at the frustrated look on Flora's face. Having just defeated the Army of Decay for now, Flora was determined to break the dark spell cast on Mirta, transforming her from a pumpkin back to her human form. Despite her best efforts, nothing seemed to work.

Flora's hands glowed a vibrant green as she chanted incantations over the pumpkin, her voice filled with hope. But once again, there was no change.

"Damn it..." Flora muttered, running her hands through her hair in frustration. "I feel like I've tried everything."

Musa shrugged, seemingly unbothered by Flora's repeated failures. "You might as well toss it in, Flora."

"Don't say that," I shot Musa a look of disapproval while she flashed me a sheepish smile. Flora, however, scoffed.

"I'm not giving up. I promised to turn her back." Determination burned in Flora's eyes, and I couldn't help but smile at her resolve.

"Look, if there's anyone who can break Icy's spell, it's you, Flo," Musa pointed out, her tone factual. "But it's obviously not happening. It would be better for everyone to just let it go, right, Stella?"

"It's sad but true," Stella reluctantly agreed, though her mind seemed elsewhere. "I don't get why you're wasting time when we already have our hands full with the war going on."

Stella's words weren't meant to be harsh. The tears in her eyes showed she felt bad for Mirta. Stella had her own emotional struggles, stemming from her parents' constant fighting and their dismissive attitude toward her. So, when I saw the dazed look on her face, I knew she was struggling with her emotions.

"I think we should find her a nice, sunny pumpkin patch," Musa joked, laughing at her own words.

Stella nodded, trying to keep the mood light. "At least that way she'll have friends."

"Stop talking like that!" Flora scolded, clearly disapproving of their pessimism. "I'm never going to give up on Mirta!"

"You got this, Flora," I encouraged, laying a hand on her shoulder. She flashed me a grateful smile before turning back to Mirta.

"Mirta agrees," Tecna added, pointing out the pumpkin that had started to sparkle.

"Right!" Flora closed her eyes, placing her hands on the pumpkin again. Her hands glowed with that familiar green light, the essence of her nature magic. "Reach out for me, Mirta!"

My eyes widened in surprise as the pumpkin began to glow brighter, indicating that something was actually happening.

"Something is happening!" we all exclaimed, stepping back as the light grew more intense. I raised my arm to shield my eyes from the brilliance.
