Alethea's POV:

We were lost in the forest, and I was still low on magic energy, so I couldn't transform yet. Impatience gnawed at me as I waited for Silas, who was hunched over the bike, trying to fix it. Every moment felt like an eternity, especially since we had lost track of Sky and Bloom. Worry for my friends, who were fighting monsters back at Alfea, weighed heavily on my mind.

"Well?" I asked softly, looking at Silas in anticipation. "How's it looking?"

Silas sighed, a sound I had heard what felt like a hundred times already. "I can't get the power converter to fribulate."

I furrowed my brows in confusion. "What does that even mean?"

"The bike is busted," he stated bluntly, heaving out another sigh of frustration.

I bit my lip in annoyance. "Maybe I can use a little magic?"

"Don't," he immediately retorted, disagreeing with the idea as soon as I suggested it. "Your magic energy hasn't restored yet. Let's just start walking before it gets dark."

I nodded in agreement, and we started walking. But I couldn't help but mutter, "Fribulate? Is that even a word?"

Silas shrugged, not bothering to answer, his focus on the path ahead.

"It would be much quicker if we go through Black Mud Swamp," I pointed out, I knew it was a good shortcut.

"Depends," Silas mulled over my words. "Do you know which way to Alfea from there?"

"Yeah," I nodded before frowning, clenching my fists as worry for my missing friends resurfaced. "I hope Bloom and Sky are alright."

Silas placed his hand on mine, and I looked up to see him giving me a small smile. It was a rare sight, but it put me more at ease, as if assuring me. "They'll be fine."

I laid my hand on his and gave it a gentle squeeze before pulling his hand away. "..I hope so."

As we walked, the silence between us was comforting yet charged with unspoken thoughts. My legs ached and trembled, my breath growing ragged. Darkness began to fall, making it harder to see.

"Let's camp here for the night," Silas suggested, eyeing me and noticing my exhausted state. "It's getting dark."

I nodded in agreement. "Okay."

"Let's get some wood to start a fire," Silas said, picking up branches and arranging them. Soon, he had a fire going, and I couldn't help but be entranced by the flickering flames.

I sat down, shivering despite the fire's warmth. Silas noticed and shot me a worried look. He moved closer, wrapping an arm around my shoulders and pulling me close. He didn't say anything; he didn't have to. His presence alone was comforting.
