Alethea's POV:

I hit the ground with a grunt, the grassy earth jolting up to meet me as the dizziness of transportation faded. Traveling like this always left me disoriented, and today, thanks to Stella's impulsive antics, we'd landed on a strange, magic-starved planet. Brushing off the dirt clinging to my white flowy skirt and crop top, I straightened up, adjusting my blue jacket and the matching sandals that completed the outfit. The delicate shimmer of my belly-button piercing caught the sunlight as I stood.

I glanced at my very best friend, Stella. With her lightly tanned skin, long blonde hair that flowed just past her waist, and golden-amber eyes that gleamed like the sun, she looked every bit the princess of Solaria. Her family took me in after I lost someone dear to me, and while the mystery of how I ended up on Solaria has never been fully solved, we eventually assumed I was from the planet. Though, that theory has never quite held up under scrutiny.

When I first met Stella, I thought she was just another spoiled princess—an assumption I had about all royalty back then. But, as fate would have it, she became the first person I could truly call a friend.

We were supposed to be on our way to Alfea. Instead, we'd somehow wound up on a planet called Earth.

I sighed, noticing she looked unfazed by our predicament. Stella's teleportation skills were as unreliable as ever. I crossed my arms, hands on my hips, and shot her a look. She still wore that brilliant smile of hers, one bright enough to rival the sun—a fitting trait for the Fairy of the Sun and Moon.

"Don't tell me we're lost," I said, my voice a little too soft to match the stern look I was giving her. I gestured around us, indicating the forest, which seemed unusually shadowed despite the sun overhead. "Magix is, oh, about seven realms away from here."

"We're not lost, Thea." Stella waved me off dismissively as she slipped her ring back on. "We just need to take care of a little ogre problem."

She scanned the area as if ogres lurking in a foreign forest were no big deal. I sighed, exasperated, but I knew I'd never let Stella handle this alone. She would do the same for me—we were two sides of the same coin, inseparable. Stella was like a sister, a bond so unbreakable it almost felt woven into the fabric of magic itself.

"This planet is really small," Stella muttered, turning back to me. "Have you ever heard of Earth before?"

"Yes, Stel," I replied, a hint of amusement slipping into my voice. "Apparently, the people here don't have magical energy at all." Her face twisted in disgust at the thought of a world without magic, and inwardly, I couldn't help but agree. A place devoid of magic felt inconceivable, yet somehow, it piqued my curiosity.
