Chapter 04// 'I'm Sorry, does it look like I care?'
It's been exactly one week since I've arrived at Richmond and I'm still trying to settle in. The huge school and dormitories have been my enemy since my first day making me late to almost every class I attended, and the constant starring doesn't exactly scream 'welcome'.
Sighing I slam my sleek black locker shut the loud banging not even noticed in the busy hallways of students trying to get to their next class. Latching onto my bag that only carried my mac and a couple of pencils I make my way down the long hallways towards where I think is my first period English. This morning I hoped that my black jeans and shirt paired with my adidas would help me blend in but it actually did the exact opposite.
My eyes scan the dozens of classrooms looking for the right room number when I suddenly bump into someone making me spill all of my stuff onto the hard marble floors.
"Shit." I curse quietly bending down not bothering to see who I bumped into. I pray that my mac is okay, I grab my bag and open it sighing in relief that my computer was not shattered into pieces. I look up ready to give the person who bumped into me a piece of my mind and my eyebrows shoot up when I see him. My eyes trail down his face starting from his bleach blonde hair every hair in its correct place to his stormy blue-gray eyes filled with too many emotions to even recognize then finally his mouth when what looks like a permanent frown rested upon.
"Watch where you're going next time." He growls a slight hint of a foreign accent in his words. I furrow my eyebrows thinking I've definitely heard that accent before but I can't remember where.
"Why don't you watch where you're going." I snap grabbing my backpack and looking at his straight in his eyes. His mouth opens in surprise like he was surprised that I even had the audacity to say anything to him.
I glare at him and interest takes over in his eyes.
"Do you know who I am?" He asks his accent becoming even more prominent. I scoff and roll my eyes at him.
"Why would that even matter?" I say hugging my notebook that had previously fallen out of my book bag. Before he could reply a very familiar voice cut him off.
"JASPER!" Chloe's loud clear voice interrupts us as she nears the both of us. I could feel the air stiffen and Jasper (or at least that's what Chloe called him) let out a loud groan. She walks up to us with a bright smile getting even wider when she sees me.
"Brooklyn, You've met my brother?" She grins. My mouth drops a little but I quickly shut it when I see the smug look on him face.
"He's your brother?" I ask surprised.
"Yeah I am actually, the one and only." Jasper interrupts a smirk on his face reminding me of someone else. "You've got to be joking," I say exasperated. She looks at me with an amused look on her face. I fling my hands up in the air for emphases.
"You're so nice and kind, but he's an a-"
"-mazing, incredibly kind, thoughtful person that has unworldly good looks? Yeah you know I get that alot." Jasper cuts me off. Me and Chloe gawk at him at the complete and utter bullshit that has come out of his mouth.
"Please little brother tell me I heard that wrong." Chloe says earning a laugh from me and a glare from Jasper.
"Shut up Chloe its by eight minutes." He grumbled glaring at me which made me laugh even more. Chloe sobers up and looks at Jasper.
"You have to go to English." She says glaring at him like he's probably going to skip or something which I wouldn't put out of the picture considering the look he's giving her.
