UNEDITED- Chapter - Fifty -
"Have I told you about my father yet?" Archer questions continuing leaning closer to me and I shake my head.
He's mentioned him before but never talked about him, now that I'm thinking about it he's never really mentioned any of his family.
"There's a high probability that he's Satan reincarnated." He informs me with a dead serious look on his face.
"But he's your father." I try confused and Archer scoffs.
"Sure but that doesn't change a thing. Ever since I can remember he's been embedding into my head that I'm going to be the heir to the Moreno empire." He starts and my mind goes back to a couple months ago when he was telling me how his father didn't care about Archer going to college.
"He couldn't give two shits about what I want to do with my life, or what's going on in it." Archer explains and I nod along listening intently.
"I used to be in the media a lot usually with girls always with booze and every time he got ahold of these pictures he'd get really pissed. So he made it his goal to get my reputation straight."
I remember back in California when I was a sophomore there'd always be at least one magazine cover with Archer on it, he was portrayed as the 'infamous billionaire playboy' that everybody envied.
"But what does he have to do with us fake dating to get Montelsé back?" I question and his mouth goes into a thin line.
"I swear I'm getting there. So when he found out that you, Brooklyn Reeves an angel in the media and newly broken up with your superstar of an ex he thought that the first step to clean up my already tarnished reputation is to be seen with you." He confesses and I sit up quickly my eyes widened.
"You're telling me that your dad was the entire reason we fake dated in the first place and you never told me?" I ask in shock not at the fact that his father came up with the idea because it's definitely not unheard of, in fact my own parents came up with the same idea for Jax. But aren't Archer and I close enough that he should be able to tell me that his father was the mastermind behind the entire plan, a plan that ruined my relationship with Jasper and ultimately played a huge part of last year.
"I know, I know and I'm sorry. I should've told you the day I proposed the idea to you." He apologizes sounding truly sorry and I remain quiet for a couple of seconds.
"Did you even need to get over Montelsé it was that something your father made up too?" I ask trying to process everything.
"No, that was completely true I had just broken up with her." He rushes running a hand through his hair.
