"Thank god that's over." Nate groans as we walk out of the church into the almost dark night.

You could say a lot about Richard Moreno, but you couldn't say that he didn't have any friends or fake friends for that matter. The church was packed with family, friends, and business partners paying their respects.

I tried to listen as best as I could, the service was long as it was dreadful but every time I looked to my left I saw Archer's sad looking face and it was all I could think about. Even though their relationship with far from normal and healthy you could tell that Archer loved or at least admired his father.

"And to think he'd be less of an asshole the day of our father's funeral." Archer mutters from next to me and I shake my head glancing at Nate while he puts on sunglasses.

"I'm going to the bar."

"Right now? It's Tuesday Nate." Archer groans. Nate shrugs not caring before waving a hand over his shoulder and walking over to the long line of cars at the curb waiting to pick people up.

"So what do you want to do on our last day in California?" Archer asks turning to me and I scrunch my nose.

"Do you really want to go somewhere?" I ask him him running a hand down my black dress pants, the only mildly funeral appropriate thing I brought on this trip.

"Of course."

"I don't know, I kind of just want to go home. I have to finish and study a bunch of things teachers sent me and work on my essays."

"What essays?" He asks waving his hand when he spots our car.

"It's already January and I need to get my last few collage applications in that I didn't fill out last year."

"Oh." He replies as we stay silent as our car rolls up in front of us and Archer opens the door letting me go in first.

"What colleges have you applied to already?" He asks once we're both seated in the car.

"I've applied to most of my safeties like all of the UC's and I sent out two Ivies, Columbia and Cornell." I explains. Archer nods and it dawns me that we haven't talked about college at all.

"What about you?" I ask him trying to sound as nonchalant as possible and he shrugs.

"I'm pretty sure I'm not going. I already know that the company is left for me to run, so college is not in the future."
