'RICHARD MORENO FOUND DEAD'
"What's wrong?" Hayley asks and I shove my phone into her face. She reads for a quick second before a gasp leaves her lips.
Fuck I should go find Archer and ask him how he's doing, or maybe he doesn't know yet. How do you tell someone, more importantly, your boyfriend that their father has passed away?
"Brooklyn!" Hayley urges snapping me out of my worried thought.
"We have to go find him."
"Maybe you should go talk to him, I don't think he'd want to be with a bunch of people right now." She instructs and I head down to the field without her my eyes scanning the number of players looking for his number. I spot him and I start running down closer onto the field.
"Hey! Reeves, why are you on my field?" The football coach yells. I turn around to see him walking towards me, his low cap and clipboard held high making him even more intimidating.
"I need to speak with Archer Moreno, it's an emergency." I plead. He looks at me for a quick second before sighing and turning towards the players.
"MORENO GET UP HERE!" He shouts before walking away from me and farther down the field. I watch as Archer runs up the field to us and I try and practice how I'm going to break the news to him.
"Princess, what a nice surprise." Archer grins taking off his helmet. I open my mouth ready to tell him but nothing comes out.
"Brooklyn, what's wrong?" Archer questions his eyebrows furrowing and I struggle to find to right words so I just lift up my phone to show him the headline.
Archer's eyes darts across my phone before his entire face goes blank. I stay quiet for a couple of seconds letting Archer process everything but when the seconds start to turn into minutes, I start to get worried.
"Archer?" I start placing my hand onto his and he looks up at me, his eyes cloudy. My heart aches for him as I pull him closer to me as he buries his head in the crook of my neck letting his helmet drop to the ground. Even though I know that he wasn't on the best terms with his father, it probably hurts like hell losing a relative especially a parent. I close my eyes as Archer hugs me even tighter and I can feel his entire body shaking.
"Archer, what do you want me to do? I can call a plane out right now to fly you to LA." I offer quietly and Archer slowly backs away and I meet eyes with his red ones as he runs a hand through his hair.
"Will you come with me?"
"Of course, I'll call and have one of my parent's planes take us there." I agree without hesitation looking down at my phone.
"No, it's fine I'll get one you can go get your stuff I want to leave as soon as possible." He instructs and I nod giving his hand one last squeeze before I rush off the field.
