Chapter 10: Underwater Mystery

"Pano mo naman nasabi yan?" tanong ko kay Llios, napatingin naman siya sa taas na parang nag-iisip.

"Just a guess. Atsaka sinong hindi masu-suspicious diba? You replacing your de-ad princess. Anong iisipin ng iba?" sagot niya at nagpatuloy na sa pagkain.

"We should find her." Suggest ni Aurora. "Maliit lang naman ang isla, her body should be around. An arcana user won't just you know... mawala."

Ang perks din minsan sa pagiging arcana user/arcanists is that they don't turn to nothing so easily when they passed away. Mostly it would take a century.

Dahil siguro malakas pa ang force ng arcana nila. "Ano ba ang arcana ni Nereida?" tanong ko sabay napaisip.

"Ba't mo natanong? Sadly hindi pa namin alam ang arcana niya, though we did feel she's not... entirely human." Astral answered.

"You mean..." hindi ko tinapos ang sinabi ko pero alam na nina Astral kung ano ang ibig kong sabihin. "Anong klase kaya siya? An animal hybrid like you guys?"

"Probably, I mean she reeks/smells like fish." Napaubo naman ako sa sagot ni Aurora dahil ang straightforward niyang sumagot.

It's like she's saying ang langsa ng amoy ni Nareida, lalo na't kitsune nila, their sense of smell is also sensitive. Astral then inhaled...

"Hmm... mas lalo tuloy akong nagutom." Kumento ni Astral at napa-make face naman ako, what? Mas lalo siyang nagutom sa amoy ng isda?

Well I already know they like meat a lot, lalo na't isda ito. Kinabahan tuloy ako, baka kung anong gawin nila kay Nereida.

"I also noticed na konti lang ang mga taong may arcana dito." Dagdag ni Astral. "Around 10 people."

"I'd be guessing na tatlo or apat lang sakanila ang may defense and offense arcana while the rest of them are just supports." Tatango-tangong sang ayon ni Aurora.

"Shouldn't we check the Princess lair muna?" tanong ni Llios.

"Anong we?" taas kilay na sabi ko sakanya.

"I just wanna tag along, nakalimutan mo ba ang sinabi ni Prince Hellion?" naka-smirk na sagot niya.

I sighed in disbelief; I forgot Hellion was pressing Llios on solving this case by ourselves. "Whatever."

Nagplano na kami kung kelan namin gagawin and Llios suggested after the party since Nereida will be busy cleaning up.

"Ladies and gentlemen, good evening Verdantide citizens! Sadly hindi na naman makakapunta si Princess Laura." Nakangiting bati ni Nereida sa lahat ng tao dito.

"Alam naman natin ang sitwasyon niya, she's still very sick but she's already healing kaya antayin nalang natin siya." They applauded her and nodded.

"Tonight I gathered you all here to welcome our guests from the Hearthorn Empire!" syempre lumapit kaming tatlo don- except Llios, he doesn't seem to care.

Mukhang wala ding pake si Nereida sakanya, it's like he's a normal citizen here na. "This is Lady Morana Viole Fleur along with her colleagues Miss Aurora and Mr Astral Cosmos."

Nagpalakpakan naman ang lahat at kami naman ay nag bow. "Andito sila upang tulungan tayo sa pagpoprotect sa isla, we know monsters are increasing and..."

"Hearthorn empire sent them to help us here kaya wag kayong mabahala." Nagtaka naman ako kung bakit hindi niya sinabi na tinransfer kami...

Well we're here to help pero mostly ang reason ay tinransfer kami kasi ayaw ng emperyo na magcause ako ng scandal don sa situation nina Hellion.

"Please treat them well." Napatitig naman ako kay Nereida, to think this person has a secret despite being this considerate and kind.

Napansin niya naman akong nakatitig and nginitian niya ako, her ocean blue hair was shining under this moonlight. Just like a mermaid indeed.

Syempre naghiyawan na ang mga tao at nagpatuloy na sa pagkain. People came and talk to us like they know us... first time ko naman naranasan ang ganito.

Because when you're a noble, people just don't come to you lalo na pag ma-issue sila. So in this new place, they didn't seem to mind kung ano ang status ko.

'Ang ganda niyo po!'

'Your eyes match the garden in our backyard.'

'Wowww nagbo-bloom ka po with flowers!'

The children and youngsters talked at binigyan ako ng maraming bulaklak, mas lalo naman akong natuwa since this is my arcana.

Pinakita ko naman sakanila yung mga experiments kong bulaklak don sa flower shop ni father, they were even more amazed- "WOWWWW"

"My lady you look so happyyyyy aww." Masayang sabi ni Aurora, "Though they won't stop touching my tail. Pero sige... mabait ako."

Napatawa naman ako dahil kanina pa nilalaruan yung buntot niya, samantalang si Astral naman ay yung fox ears niya pero nagpatuloy lang siya sa pagkain like he doesn't care.

"Kindly don't poke my ears. Pwede niyo hawakan pero don't poke." Astral asked in a calm tone and syempre mas natuwa yung mga bata.

Wow, people here are so kind... I never thought they'd accept us that fast. Nag expect na kasi ako na parang same environement lang sa Hearthorn but...

Wow... being here feels calm and peaceful. Hindi nagja-judge ang mga tao and they all seem so genuine too.

Buti nalang talaga at nakatakas kami don dahil oras na kasing uminom ng alcohol. Syempre si Aurora hinatak agad yung kambal niya...

Let's just say Astral and alcohol are not a perfect combo. Nawala din si Llios and Aurora sensed he's already inside sa bahay ni Princess Laura.

While we sneakily entered, nakita namin si Llios na may tinitingnan... don sa inupuan ni Princess Laura or should I say Nereida.

We didn't say anything dahil baka may makarinig samin sa labas so all we did was just eye contact. Llios then lift the chair-

Ayon, bumakat ulit yung biceps niya. Ewan ko ba kung bakit yun ang unang napansin ko. Apparently it has a hidden passage and we all went down.

When we arrived, namangha naman ako kasi... may malaking aquarium? When we got closer.... We saw someone...

Muntik nang tumalon ang puso ko when I saw a person... she was awake and floating in the aquarium. "Anong ginagawa niyo dito Lady Mora?"
