Chap 38- Days To Come

Days passed by without a word from Tomura. Those days turned into weeks, that eventually turned into a couple of months. You grew to block out that hole in your life by staying busy with the PLF, while enjoying your time with your little makeshift family. Your love for them grew every day, as much as they drove you crazy, there wasn't a thing in the world you wouldn't do for them.

They even went out of their way to replace your car, the old one not able to be repaired due to the entire engine block being destroyed after smashing into a building. The whole ordeal made you cry ugly tears before you took it out for a joyride with your group.

You haven't heard much from Hawks since the night of the club. You saw him in passing a few times, he would hang out with Twice a lot and even the rest of you, but no more serious conversations happened between you and him. Then, he disappeared for a few weeks, which you only knew thanks to Twice constantly whining about it.

You got some vague answers from Lani about your quirks, her conclusion being that the water quirk appeared when you went under extremely high stress. Her research showed that it only happens once in a blue moon for other people around the world and that you should try to be happy about it. She couldn't explain why your tree quirk was attacking your body, but chalked it up to the same level of Touya's quirk and that it would keep happening until your body gave out, which you kind of already knew.

In a moment of weakness, you explained to Lani about your occasional want to leave the PLF because you felt so lost, to which she understood. She held no judgment over you, even expressing her concerns about your stress levels and how much it was affecting your quirk reactions. She casually mentioned some friends she had outside of the country, which you told her to keep you in the loop if she happened to talk to them.

Other than all that, the days at the mansion continued as normal. And today was just another day for you. You and Dabi were wandering down the halls, his arm lazily around your shoulders as you were scrolling on your phone. You were both on your way to get food after a morning of being lazy in bed, which you took for granted over the work that needed to be done.

You giggled at a meme that Toga sent to the group chat and went to show Dabi, but a loud rumbling shook the entire building, alerting you and Dabi as you both turned around. The entire hallway filled with people went silent as you gripped your phone, which started vibrating with rapid fire texts.

Skeptic: EMERGENCY

Skeptic: MASS AMOUNT OF HEROES ARE APPROACHING FRONT OF MANSION

You furrowed your eyebrows as you read the texts, your heart racing as you typed out a message to Skeptic to have all Lieutenants gather their groups. People in the halls started sprinting past you as you cussed under your breath. Dabi turned back around and started casually walking down the hall again, but you grabbed his elbow and spun him around.

"Where the fuck are you going?" You demanded, his eyes rolling to your question.

"I have a feeling. I'll find you soon, go." He said cryptically, pulling his arm from your grip to continue walking. You didn't have time to argue as you scoffed and took off down the hall in the opposite direction. You need to find your other Lieutenants before everything gets out of hand.

A loud crackle of lightning sounded off from in front of the building, the light from it flashing through the windows as you ran. You had to skid to a stop suddenly, the wall around the corner of the hall missing, revealing a hole to show you the entire front lawn of the mansion.
