No one wanted to be your friend. No one wanted to sit with you. You were an outcast because you chose to not speak.

You sat down in a rocking chair in the school library and saw a girl pointing and laughing at you, pretending to try to speak and failing.

Ha-ha. Very funny.

You frowned and looked away before you continued reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows for the fourth time.

"Hello." A voice said. You looked up to see a boy with blonde hair and blue eyes.

You wrote down in a small notebook:

Hi.

"Why are you sitting here by yourself?" The boy asked.

You wrote:

No one wants to be friends with a mute girl. They think I'm crazy.

To your surprise, the boy chuckled. "They're crazy to think that. Can I sit next to you?"

You nodded.

He pulled up a chair and sat down. "I'm Armin."

You wrote:

My name is (f/n). Nice to meet you. But, why are you sitting with me? Surely you have friends.

"Nice to meet you too." Armin smiled. "And I do have friends, you're correct. But, I saw you just sitting here. I thought maybe you'd like some company."

You scribbled onto a page of the notebook:

I do like some company. You're nice. Thank you.

Armin nodded, "No problem. Is that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows?"

His questioned surprised you, but you wrote something down and showed it to him:

Yes. Are you a Potter fan?

"Of course. The books and movies are amazing!" He beamed.

You had to try to not laugh before you wrote:

I agree. The movies are good, but they left out some things. And changed some.

Armin nodded. "Yeah."

A brunette boy walked over to you two. "Armin, we're going to go. Ready?"

"I think I'll stay here with (f/n). I'll meet you two at your place, Eren." Armin smiled.

The boy called Eren nodded. "Alright. Well, let's go, Mikasa." He waved to Armin and left.

You scribbled in your notebook:

Why did you give up walking with your friends for me? I'm not important.

"Yes, you are. I enjoy talking to you."

You shook your head.

"Don't doubt yourself. Can I find you here tomorrow?" He asked.

You wrote something down and showed it to him, nodding:

Yes. And every day.

"Alright, I'll see you tomorrow!" He waved and left the library.

Eren saw Armin leave the school library. "There you are!"

Armin chuckled. "Yep."

"Dude. . I didn't know you were talking to the silent girl." Eren blinked.

"What do you mean 'silent girl?'" Armin asked.

"She's mute. By her own choice." Eren answered.

"So she's mute. What about it, Eren? She's still a person." Armin shrugged.

"A mute person--"

"Eren. ." Mikasa said.

Eren looked at her. "What? She is!"

"Eren!" Armin yelled. "She is a human being!"

Eren was surprised. "Whatever. . Let's go."

"No thanks! Maybe tomorrow when you're not a jerk!" Armin turned around and entered the library.

Months went by. You and Armin were best friends. You remembered a month ago. .

"H-Hey (f/n)." Armin greeted.

You wrote: Hello. . Is everything okay?
He stuttered, "Y-Yeah. . Um. . . I wanted to know if-- Well. . I've liked you for months now. . Will you be my girlfriend?"

You blinked. Before you knew what was happening, you yelled, "Yes!" Your eyes widened as you covered your mouth.

"Your voice. . It's. . Beautiful." He blushed.

Heat rose to your face as you gulped. "R-Really?"

"Yes. You shouldn't hide it." He smiled.

You smiled back and kissed his cheek. "I won't anymore. I promise."

Now you were sitting on Armin's lap in the chair next to the rocking chair. Your fingers were intertwined with his. You smiled and kissed him. He returned the kiss.
