Seungcheol sat cross-legged on the floor of Jeonghan's room, his laptop open in front of him, notes scattered around. They had planned a "study date"—an attempt to tackle the pile of assignments looming over them. But the air between them was different today. The chemistry was undeniable, and studying was quickly becoming an afterthought.
Jeonghan sat across from him, his legs tucked beneath him, eyes wandering from the open textbook on his lap to Seungcheol. He wasn't even pretending to focus anymore, glancing at Seungcheol every few minutes with a soft smile tugging at the corner of his lips.
"Are you even reading that?" Seungcheol asked, a playful smirk crossing his face as he caught Jeonghan staring.
Jeonghan raised an eyebrow, leaning back on his hands as he shrugged. "Not really. Are you?"
Seungcheol laughed, leaning back as well. "Fair point." His mind had been elsewhere since they started, distracted by how close they were, by the way Jeonghan's soft voice seemed to melt the tension of the day. Every time Jeonghan moved, even slightly, Seungcheol felt a little more flustered.
Jeonghan shut his textbook, clearly giving up on the idea of studying for the moment. He looked at Seungcheol, his gaze warm and teasing. "You know, I don't think this 'study date' is working out," he said, his tone light but with a hint of mischief.
Seungcheol chuckled, nodding in agreement. "I don't think so either," he admitted. "Maybe we're just not cut out for this."
Jeonghan shifted closer, closing the gap between them as he sat next to Seungcheol. He rested his head on Seungcheol's shoulder, his long hair brushing against Seungcheol's arm. "Then let's stop pretending," he said softly, his voice barely above a whisper.
Seungcheol's heart raced at the closeness, his breath hitching as he turned his head slightly to glance at Jeonghan. Being this close, the distraction of Jeonghan was overwhelming in the best way possible. His usual calmness seemed to vanish under Jeonghan's gaze.
"You know," Seungcheol murmured, his voice low as he tilted his head toward Jeonghan, "I think you're way more distracting than this entire stack of assignments."
Jeonghan smirked, lifting his head to meet Seungcheol's eyes, their faces now just inches apart. "Oh, really? And here I thought I was making it easier to concentrate."
"Yeah, no," Seungcheol said, chuckling softly as his hand reached up to gently brush a strand of Jeonghan's hair behind his ear. "You're definitely the distraction."
Jeonghan didn't say anything, but the way he leaned in, his gaze flickering down to Seungcheol's lips, said everything.
Seungcheol hesitated for a second, his breath catching, before leaning in and closing the distance between them. The kiss was soft, tentative at first, but it quickly deepened, both of them losing themselves in the moment.
Whatever had been left of their study session was long forgotten as they leaned into each other, the weight of their unfinished work dissolving in the heat of the kiss.
When they finally pulled away, both of them were breathless, smiling softly at one another.
"Well," Jeonghan whispered, his forehead resting against Seungcheol's, "that was definitely not in the study plan."
Seungcheol laughed, his hand still lingering on Jeonghan's cheek. "Maybe it should've been," he teased, his thumb brushing lightly over Jeonghan's skin.
Jeonghan chuckled, pulling back just enough to look into Seungcheol's eyes. "Guess we'll just have to reschedule the actual studying," he said, his voice playful.
