The next day, Seungcheol sat in the library, hunched over his laptop, completely absorbed in his latest coding project. His fingers moved swiftly across the keyboard, eyes glued to the screen, blocking out the world around him. The problem he was trying to solve had consumed his thoughts all day, and he barely noticed the other students milling about between the bookshelves.
That was until a sweet, familiar scent wafted through the air, and a shadow fell over his desk.
"Guess who brought a little surprise?" a soft, teasing voice chimed in, breaking Seungcheol's concentration.
He looked up, blinking as his brain adjusted from lines of code to the angelic sight of Jeonghan standing in front of him, holding a small box wrapped with a delicate ribbon. His signature long hair fell over his shoulders like a halo, and there was that playful smile on his lips that always made Seungcheol's heart skip a beat.
"Jeonghan?" Seungcheol leaned back in his chair, smiling despite himself. "What's this?"
Jeonghan grinned wider, sliding the box onto Seungcheol's desk. "Madeleines. I thought you could use a break. You've been coding your heart away all morning, haven't you?"
Seungcheol chuckled, shaking his head as he rubbed the back of his neck. "Guilty. I didn't even notice the time."
"I figured," Jeonghan said, pulling up a chair and sitting beside him. "You get this look when you're really into something. But hey, you can't live on code alone. Try one of these."
Seungcheol opened the box, revealing a batch of perfectly baked madeleines, their golden shells soft and inviting. The sweet aroma filled the air, and his stomach growled in response—he hadn't realized how hungry he was until now. He picked one up and took a bite, the buttery sweetness melting on his tongue.
"Wow," he said, savoring the flavor. "These are amazing."
Jeonghan leaned back with a satisfied smirk. "Glad you like them. I made them myself this morning."
Seungcheol's eyes widened in surprise. "You baked these?"
"Yup," Jeonghan said, a bit of pride in his voice. "I'm full of surprises, you know."
Seungcheol laughed softly, feeling warmth spread through him. It wasn't just the madeleines; it was Jeonghan's thoughtfulness, the way he always seemed to know when Seungcheol needed a little extra care.
"Thanks, Jeonghan," Seungcheol said quietly, his gaze softening as he looked at him. "You didn't have to, but... I really appreciate it."
Jeonghan shrugged, looking away briefly, a faint blush dusting his cheeks. "Well, I wanted to. Besides, I like seeing you smile."
For a moment, the noise of the library faded away, and it was just the two of them in their own little world. Seungcheol felt his heart beat a little faster, realizing just how much he had fallen for the boy sitting next to him.
"Well," Jeonghan broke the silence, sitting up straighter, "since you're all fueled up now, don't let me keep you from your coding genius."
Seungcheol grinned, though his eyes lingered on Jeonghan. "I might need more of those madeleines if I'm going to finish this."
Jeonghan laughed, standing up and giving Seungcheol a playful tap on the shoulder. "Fine, fine. Just let me know when you need your next delivery."
As Jeonghan turned to leave, Seungcheol couldn't help but watch him walk away, the smile lingering on his lips. There was something so effortless about how Jeonghan had become such an important part of his life, and with every little moment like this, Seungcheol felt himself falling even deeper for him.
