The shrill ring of Seungcheol's phone cut through the silence of his apartment at 5 AM. Startled, he fumbled for his phone, his heart racing with anticipation. He glanced at the screen, and when he saw Jeonghan's name flash before him, a wave of relief washed over him. Without hesitation, he answered, "Jeonghan!"

"Seungcheol!" Jeonghan's voice was a breathless mix of excitement and exhaustion. "I made it!"

Seungcheol could practically hear the smile in Jeonghan's voice, and it warmed his heart despite the early hour. "You're really there? How was the flight?"

"It was long," Jeonghan replied, a chuckle escaping his lips. "But it's so much more than I expected. The city is huge, and my dorm... it's cozy! You'd love it. I wish you were here to see it with me."

Seungcheol could picture Jeonghan's bright eyes sparkling with enthusiasm, and it brought a smile to his own face. "I can only imagine. I miss you so much. Are you okay? Did everything go smoothly?"

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just a little tired, but I couldn't wait to call you." There was a pause, and Seungcheol could sense the weight of emotions behind Jeonghan's words. "It feels weird being here without you."

"I know," Seungcheol said softly. "I feel the same way. It's like my world is missing a piece. But we'll get through this. You'll call me every day, right?"

"Of course," Jeonghan replied, his voice reassuring. "You're my anchor, Seungcheol. I need you to keep me grounded, especially here."

Seungcheol chuckled lightly, feeling a mixture of happiness and sorrow. "And you're my reason to stay positive. Just remember, no matter the distance, I'm always with you. Whenever you feel lonely, just listen to our song."

"'Soft Spot,'" Jeonghan said, and Seungcheol could hear the smile in his voice. "I'll make it my background music for the next few weeks. You'll always be with me."

"Good," Seungcheol replied, his heart swelling with affection. "And when you get settled, I expect a video call so I can see your dorm and the city."

"Deal," Jeonghan said with a playful tone. "But only if you promise to show me your coding projects!"

Seungcheol laughed, feeling lighter despite the distance that separated them. "It's a deal. Now get some rest, okay? You've got a big day ahead of you."

"Okay, but only if you promise to sleep too," Jeonghan insisted, his tone turning serious.

"I promise," Seungcheol replied. "But first, tell me how much you love the view from your window!"

Jeonghan paused, and Seungcheol could hear the excitement bubbling in his voice. "It's incredible! The skyline is breathtaking, and the sunrise... you won't believe it."

"I can't wait to see it," Seungcheol said, longing to share those moments with Jeonghan. "Just remember, I'm here for you, always."

"Always," Jeonghan echoed, his voice steady. "I love you, Seungcheol."

"I love you too, Jeonghan. More than anything."

With that, they hung up, and Seungcheol lay back on the couch, staring at the ceiling. Though he missed Jeonghan deeply, hearing his voice filled him with hope. They would make this work, one call at a time.

Seungcheol sat in silence for a moment, letting the warmth of Jeonghan's words wash over him. The world outside his window was still dark, but in his heart, a flicker of light had ignited. He glanced at the clock on the wall—it was still early, but he knew sleep wouldn't come easily. Instead, he pulled out his laptop and opened up a new document, feeling the familiar comfort of coding wash over him.
