Thursday morning arrived, bringing with it a crisp autumn chill that filled the air. The sunlight filtered through the living room windows as Jeonghan and Seungcheol prepared for their important meeting with the adoption coordinator. The atmosphere in their apartment was a mix of excitement and nervous energy as they double-checked their notes and prepared their questions for Ms. Kang.
Seungcheol had managed to take urgent leave from work, emailing his team the night before to ensure his schedule was clear. Though he hated leaving tasks unfinished, this was far more important, and he knew his colleagues would understand.
Meanwhile, Jeonghan had made arrangements with his father to oversee the ongoing renovations at the boutique. That morning, after a quick call, his father assured him everything was under control.
"Don't worry, Jeonghan," his father said, his tone steady and confident. "I'll make sure everything goes smoothly today. You just focus on your meeting."
"Thanks, Dad," Jeonghan replied, grateful for his father's help. He could hear the faint sounds of hammering and drilling in the background, evidence that work was already underway.
After hanging up, Jeonghan joined Seungcheol in the living room, where he was adjusting his tie in front of a mirror.
"How do I look?" Seungcheol asked, turning to Jeonghan with a small, sheepish smile.
Jeonghan stepped closer, smoothing out a crease on Seungcheol's blazer. "Perfect, as always," he replied softly. "Ready for this?"
"As ready as I'll ever be," Seungcheol said, though there was a hint of nervousness in his voice.
Jeonghan grabbed his coat from the rack and slid it on. "Then let's go meet our boys," he said with a determined smile.

The drive to Seoul Family Connections was quiet, punctuated only by the faint hum of the car engine and the occasional chatter from the radio. Seungcheol kept one hand on the steering wheel while the other rested on his lap, his fingers tapping out a nervous rhythm. Jeonghan sat beside him, staring out the window as he tried to steady his breathing.
When they arrived at the building, the couple took a moment to compose themselves in the car. Jeonghan reached over, squeezing Seungcheol's hand. "We've got this," he said, his voice steady and reassuring.
Seungcheol nodded, his resolve hardening as he opened the car door. Together, they stepped into the building, their hands brushing against each other as they walked through the lobby.
Ms. Kang was waiting for them in a cozy meeting room on the second floor. She greeted them warmly, her professional demeanor softened by her kind smile.
"It's so good to see you both again," Ms. Kang said as she gestured for them to take a seat.
The meeting began with introductions and a detailed discussion about Sumin and Seowon. Ms. Kang shared updates about the boys' current care, their personalities, and their developmental milestones.
"Sumin is very curious and full of energy," Ms. Kang said, her eyes lighting up as she spoke. "He loves exploring new things and has quite the adventurous spirit. Seowon, on the other hand, is still very young, but he's thriving. He's a calm baby, very easy to soothe."
Jeonghan and Seungcheol listened intently, their hearts swelling with affection for the boys they hadn't even met yet.
"Do you have any questions so far?" Ms. Kang asked.
Jeonghan leaned forward, his voice soft but steady. "We just want to make sure we're fully prepared for their transition. What can we do to help them feel comfortable when they come home with us?"
