The next morning, sunlight peeked through the curtains as Jeonghan and Seungcheol woke up feeling refreshed. They'd fallen asleep on the couch again, and Seungcheol groaned softly as he stretched, his muscles protesting the awkward sleeping position.
"I think we need a no-sleeping-on-the-couch rule," Seungcheol mumbled, rubbing the back of his neck.
Jeonghan smirked as he sat up, adjusting the blanket around his legs. "You say that every time, yet here we are."
"Yeah, yeah," Seungcheol grumbled, ruffling Jeonghan's messy hair as he stood.
Jeonghan yawned, his eyes still half-closed. "Coffee first," he murmured, throwing an arm over his face dramatically. "I can't function without it."
Seungcheol chuckled, swinging his legs over the side of the sofa. "I'll get started on it. You stay here and wake up slowly." He leaned down to press a soft kiss to Jeonghan's forehead before standing and heading toward the kitchen.
The apartment was quiet, save for the faint hum of the city waking up outside. Seungcheol moved with practiced ease, pulling out the coffee beans and grinding them fresh. The rich aroma quickly filled the space, a comforting scent that promised a good start to the day. He set the coffee maker to brew and began to prepare some toast and fruit for their breakfast.

By the time Jeonghan shuffled into the kitchen, wrapped in a blanket like a cocoon, the coffee was ready. His hair was still slightly mussed, and he had the faintest trace of a pillow crease on his cheek. Seungcheol couldn't help but grin at how effortlessly endearing he looked.
"Perfect timing," Seungcheol said, pouring a mug of coffee and handing it to Jeonghan.
Jeonghan accepted it gratefully, taking a long sip before letting out a contented sigh. "You're a lifesaver," he said, his eyes finally starting to look fully awake.
"Anything for you," Seungcheol replied, his tone teasing but sincere. He gestured to the table, where he'd set out plates of toast with butter and jam, along with a bowl of mixed fruit. "Breakfast is ready."
They sat across from each other, the morning sunlight streaming in and casting soft shadows on the table. Jeonghan picked at a piece of toast, occasionally dipping it into his coffee, while Seungcheol worked through the fruit bowl.
"So," Seungcheol began, glancing up at Jeonghan, "are you excited to meet Hanbi today?"
Jeonghan's face lit up at the mention of the baby that their friends, Seungkwan and Hansol, had adopted. "Of course. I've been waiting for this all week. I can't wait to hold her. I've seen so many pictures already; it feels like I know her."
Seungcheol laughed. "Seungkwan's been sending you updates non-stop, hasn't he?"
"Non-stop," Jeonghan confirmed, grinning. "But I don't mind. She's adorable. It's hard not to feel excited when they're so happy."
The conversation meandered from Hanbi to their own plans for parenthood, their voices growing softer and more thoughtful as they spoke. The idea of having their own little one someday felt more real now, a dream inching closer to becoming a reality.

After breakfast, they cleaned up together, the routine movements of washing dishes and wiping counters filled with a quiet, easy rhythm that spoke of their years together. Jeonghan hummed under his breath as he rinsed the mugs, and Seungcheol playfully flicked water at him, earning a mock glare.
"Do you want to be banned from the kitchen again?" Jeonghan threatened, though the corners of his mouth twitched with amusement.
"Like you could survive without me here," Seungcheol shot back, leaning in to steal a quick kiss on Jeonghan's cheek before dodging out of reach.
