Mingyu took a deep breath, steeling himself as he walked toward Wonwoo. His heart raced with every step, a mix of excitement and anxiety bubbling up inside him. He felt a little ridiculous for being so nervous, but the idea of talking to Wonwoo—of finally saying something—was enough to make his palms sweat.
"Hey, Wonwoo!" Mingyu called out, trying to sound casual as he closed the distance between them.
Wonwoo turned, his eyebrows raising slightly in surprise. "Oh, hey, Mingyu," he replied, a hint of curiosity in his voice. "What's up?"
Mingyu's heart raced faster, but he pushed through the jitters. "I was just, uh, wondering if you wanted to hang out after school today. Maybe grab a coffee or something?"
Wonwoo paused, a thoughtful expression crossing his face. Mingyu could see the gears turning in his mind, and he held his breath, waiting for an answer. "Sure, that sounds nice," Wonwoo finally said, a small smile breaking through his usual calm demeanor. "What time?"
Mingyu couldn't help but grin at the response. "How about after classes? I can meet you at the coffee shop near the school."
"Sounds good," Wonwoo replied, his tone more relaxed now. "I'll see you there."
As Wonwoo walked away, Mingyu felt an exhilaration that made him want to jump in place. He couldn't believe it had actually worked! He was finally going to spend time with Wonwoo outside of school, and the thought sent a rush of warmth through him.
Feeling emboldened, Mingyu called out one last time. "Oh, and Wonwoo?"
Wonwoo turned back, looking slightly puzzled. "Yeah?"
Mingyu took a moment to collect his thoughts, wanting to make this moment count. "I really admire how dedicated you are to your studies. It's inspiring," he said, sincerity pouring from him. "I just thought you should know."
A faint blush crept onto Wonwoo's cheeks, and he looked taken aback. "Thanks, Mingyu. That means a lot," he said, his voice softening.
With a wave, Mingyu watched as Wonwoo walked away, a sense of accomplishment flooding him. He couldn't wait for their coffee date, and the prospect of getting to know Wonwoo better filled him with hope. Maybe this was the start of something beautiful.

Mingyu sat at his desk, staring blankly at the whiteboard as the teacher droned on about algebraic equations. The numbers and letters seemed to swirl together in a confusing mess, completely losing his attention. Instead, his mind was consumed by thoughts of the upcoming coffee date with Wonwoo.
What would they talk about? Would it be awkward? Mingyu felt butterflies in his stomach, flipping between excitement and anxiety. He couldn't help but replay the earlier encounter in his mind—the way Wonwoo's eyes had lit up, even if just a little, when he'd invited him out. That small smile had made Mingyu's heart race, and he found himself grinning absentmindedly at the memory.
"Mingyu!" the teacher's voice cut through his thoughts, pulling him back to reality.
Mingyu blinked, quickly realizing everyone was looking at him. He felt his cheeks heat up, and he straightened in his seat. "Uh, yes?" he stammered, trying to shake off the haze.
"Care to share your thoughts on the equation?" the teacher asked, crossing her arms, a raised eyebrow indicating she wasn't pleased with his distraction.
"Uh... I—" Mingyu glanced at his notebook, which was filled with doodles rather than notes. "I didn't catch that," he admitted, feeling a wave of embarrassment wash over him.
