Chapter 22: The Workout Revelation
It was a beautiful afternoon, and Soul decided to take a walk to clear his mind. The sun was shining brightly, and the gentle breeze rustled the leaves of the trees lining the path. He strolled leisurely, enjoying the tranquility of the moment, when he noticed the familiar building of the school gym looming ahead.
Curiosity piqued, Soul paused for a moment, considering whether he should go inside. He had never really seen the gym in full action, and the thought of checking it out intrigued him. Plus, he could use the inspiration to improve his own dance moves.
As he stepped inside, the sounds of weights clanging and upbeat music filled the air. Soul wandered deeper into the gym, glancing around at the various workout stations and the students pushing themselves. It was a hive of activity, and he felt a surge of motivation.
Then, his eyes landed on a figure near the weights, and his heart skipped a beat. There was Keeho, fully focused, lifting weights with determination. The way his muscles flexed and the concentration etched on his face made Soul's breath hitch.
Keeho was clearly putting in the effort, sweat glistening on his forehead as he finished a set. Soul found himself captivated, unable to look away. The sight of Keeho working out was unexpectedly mesmerizing, and he couldn't help but admire how hard he was trying to improve himself.
After a few moments, Keeho noticed Soul standing there, a grin breaking across his face. "Hey! Soul! What are you doing here?" he called out, dropping the weights and wiping his brow with a towel.
Soul felt his cheeks warm as he stepped forward, trying to appear casual. "I was just taking a walk and thought I'd check out the gym. I didn't expect to see you here working out!"
Keeho chuckled, flexing his arm playfully. "Well, you know, I'm trying to get fit! Can't let you steal all the spotlight on the dance floor!"
Soul laughed, feeling his heart flutter. "You look great! I didn't know you were into working out."
Keeho shrugged, his expression playful. "Gotta keep up with my cute dance partner, right? Plus, I figured it's about time I take my health seriously."
"That's awesome! I can't believe I'm witnessing the gym version of you," Soul teased, leaning against a nearby wall.
Keeho struck a pose, his confidence shining through. "What do you think? Should I add 'gym rat' to my list of titles?"
"Definitely! But you'll have to work on your poses. I mean, you can't just flex and expect to win," Soul said, a teasing smile on his lips.
Keeho laughed, running a hand through his hair. "Alright, Mr. Dance Expert, I'll take your advice! But you should join me sometime! We can make a whole workout routine based on dance moves."
Soul felt his heart race at the thought. "That sounds like fun, but I might just end up embarrassing myself."
Keeho stepped closer, a playful glint in his eyes. "You? Embarrass yourself? Never! You're too cute for that. Plus, I'll be right there to catch you if you fall!"
Soul felt a rush of warmth at Keeho's words. "You really mean that?"
"Of course! We make a great team, remember? I'll be your personal trainer!" Keeho declared, his smile bright and infectious.
As they continued to chat, a group of girls walked by, glancing at Keeho with wide eyes.
"Wow, he looks amazing!" one girl whispered to her friend, her tone filled with admiration.
"Seriously! He's so fit!" another added, giggling as they walked past, clearly impressed by Keeho's physique.
Soul's heart sank a little as he watched them eye Keeho with awe. Jealousy bubbled up inside him, and he felt an inexplicable urge to step in front of Keeho, as if to protect his own claim.
Keeho, oblivious to Soul's turmoil, simply smiled at the girls, flashing his charming grin. "Thanks, guys!" he called after them, clearly enjoying the attention.
Soul forced a smile, trying to shake off the uncomfortable feeling. "Looks like you've got yourself a fan club," he said, his tone light but with a hint of annoyance.
Keeho shrugged, unfazed. "Just being me! Can't help it if I'm naturally charming!"
"Yeah, well, you could tone it down a little," Soul replied, trying to sound nonchalant, but he couldn't help the slight edge in his voice.
Keeho stepped closer, mischief dancing in his eyes. "Are you jealous, Soul?"
"What? No!" Soul retorted, though he knew he wasn't convincing anyone, least of all himself.
Keeho laughed, clearly delighted by Soul's reaction. "Admit it! You're totally jealous! But don't worry, I'm only interested in one person," he said, leaning in slightly, his gaze intense.
Soul's heart raced at Keeho's words, but the jealousy still simmered beneath the surface. "Right, because I'm such a catch," he mumbled, trying to deflect the attention away from his feelings.
"Exactly! So don't you dare let anyone else steal your spotlight!" Keeho said, flashing a grin that made Soul's heart flutter again.
As the conversation shifted back to their workout plans, Soul found himself drawn back into the moment, but the jealousy lingered in the back of his mind. He couldn't shake the feeling that he wanted Keeho all to himself, without any distractions.
"Just wait until I can show you my dance moves! Then you'll see who really has the spotlight," Soul said, trying to regain his confidence.
Keeho chuckled, running a hand through his hair again. "I can't wait! But you know I'm going to steal the show, right?"
Soul rolled his eyes, but inside, he couldn't help but smile. "We'll see about that!"
As they left the gym together, Soul realized that every day with Keeho was an adventure filled with unexpected moments—and he wouldn't have it any other way.
