Chapter 36: Dance of Distraction
The next day, Soul tried to shake off the lingering thoughts of Keeho from the day before. But it was impossible to forget the way Keeho had looked at him in that small, private space. His heart still raced at the memory.
As they walked into the dance studio for their class, Soul tried to focus on anything but Keeho, but that became nearly impossible when Keeho strutted in, his usual playful smirk on his lips.
"Hey, Soul," Keeho called out, making his way toward him. "You ready to get your groove on?"
Soul blinked, trying to keep his cool. "Groove on?"
Keeho chuckled, stretching his arms above his head, his shirt lifting slightly to reveal a sliver of skin. "Yeah, you know... dancing. Let's see if you can keep up with me today."
Soul's heart skipped a beat. As flirty as Keeho was, the idea of dancing with him only made things more complicated. "I'll try my best," Soul mumbled, looking away to avoid the fluttering feeling in his chest.
They split off into small groups as the instructor gave them their routine for the day. Naturally, Keeho and Soul ended up paired together. As the music started, Keeho caught Soul's eye, his expression playful as ever.
"Ready to show me what you've got?" Keeho asked, raising an eyebrow.
Soul sighed, knowing he was in for another round of teasing. "Let's just focus on the routine."
But of course, Keeho had other plans. As soon as they started moving to the rhythm, Keeho slipped closer to Soul, brushing against him more than necessary. His touch was light but intentional—always making Soul second-guess what Keeho's next move would be.
"Relax, Soul," Keeho whispered, his voice barely audible over the music. "You're so tense. Loosen up."
Soul shot him a flustered look, trying to ignore how close Keeho was. "I-I'm fine. Just focus."
Keeho grinned. "Oh, I am. Trust me."
The routine continued, and Keeho only got bolder, guiding Soul's movements with his hands on Soul's waist whenever they spun or shifted positions. It wasn't long before Soul was blushing furiously, his mind racing with thoughts of how impossible Keeho was making it to concentrate.
At one point, Keeho leaned in close, his breath warm against Soul's ear. "You're not bad at this, you know."
Soul swallowed, his face burning. "Th-thanks."
"But..." Keeho continued, a smirk playing on his lips. "I think I could teach you a few more... intim-."
But before Keeho could finish Soul's eyes widened, and he stumbled slightly, barely catching himself before he fell. "K-Keeho!"
Keeho laughed, steadying him with a hand on his shoulder. "What? You know I'm just teasing."
Just as Soul was about to respond, the door to the studio opened, and Theo walked in, immediately noticing Keeho's proximity to Soul.
"Still glued to each other, huh?" Theo said with a grin as he strolled over, his eyes twinkling with amusement.
Keeho shrugged, looking completely unfazed. "Soul can't get enough of me."
Soul's face turned red again, and he quickly shook his head. "That's not—he's just—"
Theo laughed, patting Soul on the back. "Relax, man. We're just messing with you. Besides, it looks like you guys were doing fine. Nice moves."
Keeho gave Theo a playful smirk. "Thanks. Though, Soul here is still a little shy."
Soul sighed, running a hand through his hair. "It's hard to dance when you're being so—"
"So what?" Keeho interrupted, raising an eyebrow.
Soul hesitated, then mumbled, "Touchy."
Theo chuckled, crossing his arms. "Yeah, Keeho tends to do that. You should've seen him during our last group project."
Soul groaned, shaking his head. "I'm not sure how much more I can handle."
Keeho, ever the joker, threw an arm around Soul's shoulders and leaned in close again. "Don't worry, I'll make sure you're... handled with care."
Soul shot him a look, his heart thumping wildly in his chest. "You're impossible."
"And you love it," Keeho teased with a wink.
The dance class finally wrapped up, and Soul couldn't be more relieved. As they left the studio, Keeho was still at his side, occasionally bumping into him or brushing against his arm. Even when they weren't dancing, Keeho found a way to keep that closeness.
As they walked down the hallway toward their next class, a group of girls passed by, giggling and whispering to each other. One of them looked directly at Keeho and smiled.
"Oh my gosh, Keeho looks so good," one of the girls whispered loud enough for them to hear.
Another girl nodded, her eyes lingering on Keeho. "Seriously, his style is on point. And did you see those muscles?"
Soul's heart sank as jealousy flickered in his chest. He tried to ignore it, but his eyes couldn't help but drift toward Keeho. He was used to Keeho's flirting, but hearing other people notice him like that made Soul feel something he hadn't quite expected—an unfamiliar mix of insecurity and possessiveness.
Keeho, of course, noticed the girls too, but he didn't pay them much attention. Instead, he turned to Soul, a teasing grin on his face. "Did you hear that, Soul? My muscles are getting compliments."
Soul's cheeks burned, and he quickly looked away. "I-It's nothing. They're just being polite."
Keeho laughed, bumping Soul's shoulder. "Aww, are you jealous?"
Soul's face turned even redder. "I'm not jealous!"
Keeho leaned in, his voice low and teasing. "You sure? Because it kinda looks like you are."
Soul crossed his arms, trying to hide his embarrassment. "You're impossible."
Keeho laughed again, his voice full of amusement. "I know. But don't worry—I'm only interested in making you blush."
Soul's heart skipped a beat, and he quickly looked away, trying to calm the butterflies in his stomach. Keeho had a way of making him feel so flustered, yet so happy at the same time. And no matter how much he tried to hide it, Soul couldn't deny that he was starting to like Keeho's teasing a little too much.
