Chapter 30: Silly Faces

The morning sun streamed through the windows of the classroom as Soul settled into his seat, still buzzing from the previous day's antics. He was half-excited and half-nervous about what the day would bring, especially since he had Keeho by his side.

As the teacher began the lesson, Soul couldn't help but glance over at Keeho, who was sitting casually, his gaze focused on the front of the room. Soul's heart fluttered as he noticed how the tight shirt accentuated Keeho's toned arms, and he quickly turned his attention back to the board, feeling a familiar heat rise to his cheeks.

"Hey, Soul," Keeho whispered, leaning over slightly, his breath warm against Soul's ear. "Want to play a game?"

Soul's eyes widened. "During class? Are you crazy?"

Keeho smirked, his eyes twinkling with mischief. "Just a little one. How about we see who can make the best faces without getting caught?"

Soul couldn't help but smile at the ridiculousness of it. "Okay, but I warn you, my faces are pretty weird!"

"Perfect! Weird is good," Keeho replied, his tone playful.

As the teacher droned on about historical events, Keeho leaned in closer, his shoulder brushing against Soul's. "You have to go first," he whispered, giving Soul a gentle nudge.

Soul took a deep breath, channeling his inner quirkiness. He scrunched up his face into an exaggerated expression, crossing his eyes and puffing out his cheeks. The silly look made Keeho snort, and Soul struggled to suppress his own laughter.

"Nice one! But I can do better," Keeho whispered back, clearly enjoying the game. He quickly turned to face Soul fully and pulled a ridiculous face, sticking out his tongue and widening his eyes dramatically.

Soul couldn't contain his laughter any longer. "You look like a fish!" he said, his voice a little too loud for the quiet classroom.

"Shh!" Keeho laughed, trying to hold it in but failing miserably. "You're going to get us caught!"

"Sorry!" Soul whispered, still giggling. He glanced around to make sure no one else had heard their little exchange, and to his relief, most of the class seemed absorbed in their notes.

Keeho then leaned even closer, his arm brushing against Soul's again. "Alright, it's my turn to make you laugh," he said, looking straight into Soul's eyes, a smirk playing on his lips.

Without warning, Keeho suddenly poked Soul's sides, and Soul jumped, squirming away in surprise. "Ah! No! You can't tickle me!" he squealed, trying to stifle his laughter.

Keeho's eyes sparkled with delight. "What? Just a little poke! You're too cute when you're flustered."

Soul could feel his face heat up, and he covered his face with his hands. "Stop it! I'm not cute!" he protested, though his embarrassment was evident.

"Oh, but you are," Keeho teased, leaning back into his seat but keeping his gaze on Soul, his expression playful.

Just then, the teacher noticed the commotion. "Keeho! Soul! Is there something you'd like to share with the class?" she asked, arching an eyebrow.

Soul's heart raced. "Um, no, ma'am! Just... studying hard!" he stammered, avoiding eye contact.

Keeho grinned, clearly enjoying the moment. "Yeah, super serious study sessions over here!" he said, his tone dripping with sarcasm.

"Alright then," the teacher replied, returning to the lesson.

Once she turned her back, Keeho leaned closer again, whispering, "You know, I could really use some help with my history notes. Maybe we could study together after school?"

Soul felt a flutter of excitement. "Sure! I'd like that!"

Keeho's smile widened, and he gently nudged Soul with his elbow, his touch lingering just a little longer than necessary. "You're the best study buddy ever!"

As the lesson continued, Soul tried to focus, but he couldn't shake the feeling of Keeho's playful energy. Every time Keeho's arm brushed against him or his fingers lightly poked at his side, Soul felt butterflies in his stomach. The whole situation was utterly ridiculous, but somehow, it was also incredibly fun.

"Okay, okay," Soul whispered, leaning over to Keeho again. "Just for the record, I think you're the one who's cute, not me."

Keeho's expression softened, and he looked at Soul with a hint of surprise. "Really? I'll take that compliment!" He leaned in even closer, his voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper. "Maybe we should have a competition on who's cuter. What do you say?"

Soul bit his lip, trying to suppress a smile. "I don't think I could win against you."

"Oh, I don't know about that," Keeho replied, his gaze playful. "I think we could both win."

Their banter continued as the class went on, and Soul couldn't help but feel grateful for the lighthearted moments they shared. No matter how quirky or embarrassing things got, having Keeho by his side made everything feel brighter.
