As soon as he embraced her, it was as if the floodgates to Ye Yun's tears were opened.

With a loud sob, she started crying, burying her forehead against Ning Chen's chest and clutching at his clothes. She cried so hard that she was gasping for breath.

This scene wasn't beautiful like a tear-streaked flower, but after bottling up her emotions for so long, crying was the best way for her to release all that pent-up pressure.

Ning Chen knew she had been uneasy for a long time. Recalling her earlier attempts at acting calm only made his heart ache for her even more.

He held her in his arms, comforting her for quite a while until she gradually began to calm down.

Ye Yun looked up at him, her shoulders still trembling, resembling a rabbit that had just been bullied.

Ning Chen had been wondering how to console her when suddenly, the next second, she tiptoed up and wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him down into a kiss.

For Ning Chen, who had also been suppressing his emotions, this action was like igniting a fuse.

The hand on her waist tightened immediately, and he quickly took the lead.

By the time Ye Yun regained some clarity, she was already pressed onto the bed, her clothes in disarray.

She hurriedly raised her hand to press against Ning Chen's shoulder. "Your Majesty, it's still daytime."

"Why didn't you say that earlier? Don't you think it's a bit too late now?"

At this point, stopping was no longer an option.

With a swift pull, he yanked down the cords holding the bed curtains in place, and the crimson drapes fell, concealing the intimate scene within.

This wasn't their first time, so what was there to worry about with one more?

Over half an hour later, Ye Yun blushed as she looked at the scattered clothes on the floor beside the bed.

Ning Chen wasn't much better off. In the heat of the moment, his outer robe had been torn, and now it couldn't be worn. Someone would have to fetch new clothes for him.

"Your Majesty, pick up those clothes and put them on the rack," Ye Yun nudged him with her foot, pulling the blanket over herself.

There was no way she could let the servants come in and see this, especially in broad daylight—how embarrassing would that be?

"Me? Pick them up?" Ning Chen glanced at her, his tone tinged with disbelief.

This woman was getting far too comfortable bossing him around!

Ye Yun blinked at him and playfully extended her pale leg out from under the blanket, swaying it teasingly.

She said deliberately, "Then how about Your Majesty fetches me some clothes first, so I can get out of bed to clean up."

Ning Chen's gaze darkened. He grabbed her delicate ankle, narrowing his eyes.

"Since you've made this request, how could I refuse?"

With that, he actually got out of bed, walked over to the wardrobe, and took out an amber-colored ruqun for her.

"Come, I'll help you change, Qing Qing."

Ning Chen had a mischievous smile in his eyes, raising an eyebrow at her.

"Don't!" Ye Yun, feeling both shy and indignant, buried her face in the blanket.

She rolled up the blanket and nestled deep into the bed, curling up like a silkworm.

Seeing the little concubine getting annoyed, Ning Chen chuckled in amusement and decided not to tease her further.
