It had only been a month since he came out, yet the first five days had been spent with Ye Yun.

He had stayed three consecutive nights, and during the last two days, he had gone to Jingqian Palace to handle official matters but still made time to have lunch at Jiaotang Garden.

This was not just a matter of being favored; it was as if she had monopolized the Emperor's affection.

"The Emperor comes to see me so often; the other sisters must be so jealous of me," Ye Yun said casually as she handed him a cup of digestive tea after lunch.

"Am I not welcome here? Are you trying to push me away?" Ning Chen snorted lightly.

Ye Yun rolled her eyes at him. "Did I say that? Why does the Emperor always put words in my mouth?"

Seeing her playful expression made Ning Chen find it amusing.

Taking a sip of tea, he said slowly, "Your temper is getting worse; you're speaking without any decorum."

He was referring to Ye Yun's earlier omission of calling herself a servant.

Yet with his tone and expression, he clearly didn't mind, but still wanted to tease her.

Ye Yun, feeling mischievous, pretended to be alarmed and quickly got up to bow.

"I was careless and forgot the rules. Please punish me, Your Majesty. I wouldn't dare disobey any punishment, even if it meant skinning or pulling tendons."

She was sipping tea when she made such a fuss, nearly causing Ning Chen to spit it out.

He set down the teacup and coughed lightly, giving her a glare.

"You little rascal!"

"Your Majesty, drink slowly," Ye Yun chuckled.

Standing up, she handed him her handkerchief to wipe his mouth.

Once she sat back down, Ye Yun said earnestly, "My brother and Huo Meiren's brother have both made military achievements. Your Majesty should at least have a meal with her so she doesn't feel neglected."

Ning Chen raised an eyebrow, looking at her teasingly while lowering his voice.

"Just a meal?"

"Otherwise? I'm quite petty and wouldn't want her to share your bed, but that's something for you to consider. I don't care," Ye Yun replied, raising her chin like a little wife.

Ning Chen laughed for a moment before taking her hand and patting it. "Alright, I understand. You don't need to worry about these things. I have a lot of documents to review today, so I won't stay long. I'll head back to handle them first."

After saying that, he stood up.

Once he adjusted his attire, Ye Yun personally escorted him to the door.

She had planned to take a nap, but before she knew it, it had started snowing outside.

"I've been in the palace for over five years, and this is the first time I've seen snow outside," Ye Yun said, opening the window to look out at the falling snowflakes.

The capital, located slightly to the north, had a picturesque winter scene with just the right amount of snow, especially with the beautiful scenery of Lingxi Garden, making it even more charming.

After watching for a while, Ye Yun really wanted to go outside.

She immediately got out of bed. "Get ready; let's go out and enjoy the snow."

"It's cold outside. Shunyuan, it's better to wait until the snow stops before going out. You might catch a cold," Hui Yue said, glancing worriedly at the snow.
