Maya's Point of View

It was midnight, and Liam and I were fast asleep when I suddenly woke up, feeling something wet. My heart skipped a beat as I looked down and realized my water had broken – our son was coming! Trying to stay calm, I turned to Liam and shook him awake.

"Babe, wake up! My water just broke!" I whispered urgently, my voice shaky with excitement and nerves.

Liam stirred, blinking his eyes open and mumbling, "What? Huh?"

"Liam!" I said, gripping his arm. "The baby's coming!"

He jolted upright, fully awake now. "Oh my god! Alright, we're doing this. Okay, let's get you to the hospital!"

As he jumped out of bed and started gathering our hospital bags, I put a hand on his arm. "Liam... can you call my parents? I really need my mom and dad right now."

"Of course," he said, his face softening. He grabbed his phone and dialed quickly.

Within seconds, my mom picked up. "Hello? Liam? What's going on?" Her voice sounded anxious.

"Hi, Lorelei," Liam said, trying to keep his voice steady. "Maya's water broke – the baby's coming! We're heading to the hospital, and she'd love for you both to come if you can."

"Oh my goodness! We'll be there as soon as we can!" she replied, her voice bright with excitement.

Liam hung up, then turned back to me, giving my hand a reassuring squeeze. "They're on their way, love. Let's go meet our son."

With that, we headed out the door, our hearts racing as we prepared for the journey ahead.

Liam helped me into the car and quickly loaded our hospital bags in the trunk. The night air was cool, and I took a few deep breaths, trying to calm my nerves as Liam settled into the driver's seat. He glanced over at me with a reassuring smile, though I could tell he was nervous, too.

"You okay?" he asked, reaching over to squeeze my hand.

"Yeah, just... a little scared, I guess," I admitted, my voice barely above a whisper. "But I'm ready. I can't believe we're actually about to meet him."

Liam nodded, his eyes softening. "Me either. I've got you, okay? We're in this together."

With that, he started the car, and we headed toward the hospital. The drive felt both endless and like a blur at the same time. I focused on breathing, gripping Liam's hand tightly whenever I felt a contraction starting.

When we finally pulled up to the hospital, a nurse was already there to meet us, guiding us through the halls and helping us get settled in a birthing room. Liam stayed by my side, holding my hand as the nurse checked my vitals and prepared everything for the delivery.

Just as I was starting to feel a bit overwhelmed, I heard familiar voices in the hallway. My mom and dad rushed in, faces lit with excitement and concern.

"Oh, sweetheart!" my mom, Lorelei, exclaimed, coming over to hug me gently. "How are you feeling?"

"I'm okay, Mom. A little nervous, but I'm glad you're here," I said, feeling a bit of the tension melt away now that my parents were by my side.

My dad stepped closer, giving Liam a firm handshake and then leaning down to kiss my forehead. "We're so proud of you, Maya. You've got this."

I nodded, taking comfort in their presence as I looked over at Liam, who smiled back at me with love and confidence.
