June 2nd 2020Niall's Point of View
Tomorrow is the love of my life's 27th birthday, and I want everything to be perfect. Sophie deserves a break—she's been up all night with our newborn, Camryn. I tried to help, but she kept saying, "You have work tomorrow; you need rest."
So, to give her a few hours of peace, I decided to take our two-year-old, Sarah, with me to the studio. We started with a quick stop there, then planned a little father-daughter date at the park afterward.
"Daddy, can I bring my dolls?" Sarah had asked, her eyes bright with excitement as I helped her into her shoes.
"Of course, sweetheart. Maybe they can help us in the studio too," I said, giving her a wink.
Now, as I stand in the recording booth, I glance through the glass at Sarah. She's sitting cross-legged on the floor with her dolls spread out in front of her, completely absorbed in her little world. My manager, who graciously offered to watch her, is sitting nearby, keeping a close eye.
"Okay, Niall, let's take it from the top," the producer calls over the speakers.
I nod, then mouth to Sarah, "Be right back." She waves her tiny hand at me, then goes back to arranging her dolls.
As I finish a take, I hear a little voice through the booth's microphone. "Daddy, are you done yet?"
I chuckle. "Almost, princess. Daddy just has to sing a few more songs."
"Okay, but can we go to the park after? My dollies want to play," she says, holding up one of her dolls for emphasis.
"Absolutely, darling. We'll go as soon as Daddy's done here," I promise, giving her a thumbs up.
With a deep breath, I focus back on my lines, determined to get through the last few takes quickly so I can keep my promise to my little girl and get back to Sophie.
Of course! Here's the continuation:
As I dive into the next verse, the rhythm flows effortlessly, fueled by the thought of celebrating Sophie's birthday. Each note feels like a reminder of how lucky I am to have her in my life.
After a few more takes, my manager gives me a nod. "That was the best one yet. Let's wrap it up."
"Finally!" I exclaim, stepping out of the booth and stretching my arms. "Sarah! You ready to go to the park?"
Her face lights up, and she jumps to her feet, her dolls clutched tightly in her tiny hands. "Yay! Can I bring Bella?" she asks, holding up the doll with the curly hair.
"Of course! Bella can come too," I reply, and we head toward the exit.
As we walk outside, the sun beams down, warming my skin. I scoop Sarah up into my arms, and she giggles, her laughter ringing like music in the air.
"Where should we go first?" I ask as I set her down, and she starts bouncing on her toes, her eyes scanning the playground.
"The swings!" she shouts, pointing excitedly.
"Alright, swings it is!" I say, guiding her toward the playground.
Once we reach the swings, I push her gently, and she squeals with delight. "Higher, Daddy! Higher!"
"Okay, hold on tight!" I say, giving her a little extra push. Watching her hair fly in the breeze fills me with a joy I can hardly describe.
After a while, I stop the swing and sit beside her on the bench. "So, what do you want to do for Mummy's birthday tomorrow?" I ask, curious to hear her thoughts.
