Sophie's Point Of View

Tomorrow marks a special day for me and Niall—our 8th anniversary. I can't believe it's been that long since he first asked me to be his girlfriend on March 1, 2011. And on the very same day, four years later, in 2015, I said yes to forever when he asked me to marry him.

Right now, the house is quiet. Niall is at work, and our 10-month-old daughter, Sarah, is taking her afternoon nap upstairs. I'm curled up on the couch, glancing occasionally at the baby monitor on the table, just in case she stirs. My thoughts drift back through the years, feeling almost surreal as I think about everything we've shared.

I smile, grabbing my phone and scrolling through old photos of us. I find one of the first pictures we ever took together—a selfie with our silly grins.

"Wow, we look like babies," I whisper to myself with a quiet laugh.

As I keep scrolling, I come across a picture of us from the day he proposed. I remember the way he looked at me, the sparkle in his eyes as he held my hands and asked me to spend my life with him.

Just then, I hear the front door open. I look up, surprised to see Niall coming in a little earlier than expected.

"Hey, love!" he says, flashing me that smile that still makes my heart skip a beat. "I got off early and thought I'd surprise my two favorite girls."

I grin, patting the spot next to me on the couch. "Perfect timing, I was just reminiscing about us."

Niall sits down, glancing at the baby monitor. "She still asleep?"

"Yes, and I was just thinking about how tomorrow marks eight years since we first started this journey together." I smile, leaning my head on his shoulder. "It feels like forever ago and just yesterday, all at once."

He wraps his arm around me, pulling me close. "I wouldn't change a single moment."

I look up at him, feeling my heart swell. "Remember the night you proposed? I don't think I even let you finish before I said yes."

He chuckles, nodding. "I wasn't sure if I was more relieved or shocked. You practically tackled me."

We both laugh, lost in the memory.

"Eight years," he murmurs, lacing his fingers through mine. "And I fall more in love with you every day, Soph."

I glance at him, tears prickling my eyes. "Here's to many more years, Niall."

Just then, the baby monitor lights up with soft cooing sounds from upstairs. We share a smile, knowing that Sarah has just added a new layer of love to our story.

As Sarah's gentle cooing fills the room through the baby monitor, Niall and I share a look, and he grins.

"I'll get her," he whispers, placing a quick kiss on my forehead before heading upstairs.

I watch him go, feeling a warmth spread through my heart. Moments later, he returns, cradling Sarah in his arms. Her little face lights up as she sees us, her blue eyes wide with curiosity. She reaches out her tiny hands, and I can't help but smile as Niall passes her to me.

"Look who's awake," I say softly, brushing a wisp of hair from her forehead. "Were you having nice dreams, sweetheart?"

She babbles in response, making us both laugh.

Niall sits back down beside us, resting his hand on Sarah's back. "I still can't believe we're parents, you know? It feels like just yesterday we were kids ourselves."
