Sophie's Point of View

Tomorrow is my eldest daughter Sarah's 4th birthday, and I'm already an emotional wreck. I can't believe how quickly time has flown by. It feels like just yesterday that I held her for the first time, and now she's this bright, curious little girl who amazes me every day. To add to the whirlwind, I'm officially 20 weeks pregnant with our first boy. The excitement and nerves are overwhelming, but right now, I'm trying to savor these precious moments with Sarah and Camryn while I can.

Today, Niall and I decided to take the girls to the park to enjoy the beautiful spring weather. Sarah is bursting with energy, running ahead to the playground, her curls bouncing as she goes, while Camryn toddles after her big sister with determination, holding tightly onto Niall's hand. My older sister Danielle is here too, along with her husband Louis and their kids. It's a full, chaotic, and heartwarming scene.

Danielle is sitting on a picnic bench with their youngest, Johanna, who's only a month old and peacefully snoozing in her car seat. Beside Danielle, their two-year-old Ashton is perched carefully with a dark red cast on his tiny arm—a reminder of the tumble he took just before his birthday in February. He looks less than thrilled about it, but Danielle has managed to keep him entertained with stickers all over the cast.

Louis is across the park, enthusiastically playing tag with their two oldest boys, Freddie, who's six, and William, who just turned three. Their laughter echoes through the air as they race around the field.

I glance over at Danielle and smile. "Ashton looks so serious with that cast. How's he handling it?"

Danielle sighs, brushing a strand of hair from her face. "He's been such a little trooper, honestly. But he's frustrated. Keeps trying to use that arm like nothing happened." She leans closer, lowering her voice. "I think Louis is more upset than Ashton is. He blames himself for not catching him in time."

"Classic Louis," I chuckle. "He's such a softie with the kids."

"Mummy, look at me!" Sarah calls from the playground, standing triumphantly at the top of the slide.

"You're so brave, sweetheart!" I shout back, clapping my hands. "Be careful, okay?"

"She's got no fear," Niall says, coming up behind me with Camryn in his arms. Our youngest is clutching her favorite stuffed bunny, looking ready to doze off despite the excitement around her.

"She's just like her dad," I tease, nudging him gently. "What do you think, Cam? Is Sarah the brave one?"

Camryn babbles something incoherent, and Niall laughs. "That's a yes," he translates.

As Sarah zips down the slide with a loud giggle, Louis jogs over with Freddie and William trailing behind him. Freddie plops onto the grass, clearly worn out from running, while William toddles over to me with a flower he picked.

"For you, Aunt Sophie!" William announces proudly, holding out the slightly crumpled yellow flower.

"Thank you, sweetheart! It's beautiful," I say, crouching down to accept it.

"Mummy," Sarah says, running up to me and tugging on my shirt. "Can we have a big cake tomorrow? Like...really big? And with sprinkles?"

I laugh and scoop her into a hug. "The biggest cake with the most sprinkles, I promise."

"And balloons?"

"Of course, balloons too."

Niall leans in, whispering with a grin, "I'm pretty sure we're going to need a bigger car just to transport this party."
