Sophie's Point Of View
Tomorrow is Niall's 25th birthday, and I'm excited to celebrate with him. As I sit on the couch, I watch our four-month-old daughter, Sarah, play with her colorful toys, kicking her legs and babbling happily on her back. The sun streams through the window, illuminating her chubby cheeks and bright eyes.
"Look at you, little one!" I say, a smile spreading across my face. "You're having so much fun, aren't you?"
Sarah giggles and reaches for a plush giraffe, her tiny fingers grasping at the bright fabric. I can't help but chuckle at her determination.
"You're getting so strong!" I encourage her, feeling a sense of pride wash over me. "I think you'll be crawling in no time."
While I pump milk, I glance at the clock, my mind racing with thoughts of all the plans we have for tomorrow. I can't wait to surprise Niall with the decorations and his favorite cake.
"Just one more day until we celebrate your dad!" I whisper, glancing back at Sarah, who is now staring at me with wide eyes, as if she understands every word.
I lean closer, my heart swelling. "You and I are going to make it a birthday to remember."
With a playful grin, I return my focus to pumping, the rhythmic sound a reminder of how far we've come as a family. Just then, the door opens, and Niall walks in, his face lighting up when he sees Sarah.
"Hey, my little sunshine!" he calls out, crossing the room in an instant. Sarah giggles louder, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
"Daddy's here!" I announce, beaming at the two of them.
Niall scoops Sarah up into his arms, lifting her high into the air. "Whee! Look at you!" he exclaims, and she bursts into a fit of giggles. "Are you having fun with Mum?"
"She was just telling me how strong she's getting," I reply, watching them with joy. "You might have to start chasing after her soon!"
Niall laughs, gently bouncing Sarah in his arms. He leans down, planting a kiss on her forehead. "You're the best present I could ask for."
As they share a moment, I can't help but feel grateful for our little family, and I can't wait to celebrate Niall's special day together.
Niall lowers Sarah back down, and she stretches her little arms toward him, clearly not ready for playtime to end.
"Alright, one more time, princess," he chuckles, lifting her into the air again. Her laughter fills the room, and I can't help but join in. Watching the two of them together feels like a gift in itself.
When he brings her down, Sarah snuggles into his chest, her tiny fingers grasping at his shirt. Niall looks over at me with a warm smile, his blue eyes soft and content. "She's growing so fast, Soph. I feel like just yesterday she was barely fitting in the palm of my hand."
"I know," I say, my voice a little wistful. "She's changing every day. But we've got so much to look forward to. Tomorrow, for instance," I add with a teasing smile.
Niall raises an eyebrow. "Ah, so you've got plans, have you?"
"Maybe a few surprises up my sleeve," I say with a smirk, reaching out to touch his arm. "But you'll just have to wait and see, birthday boy."
He grins, leaning down to give me a quick kiss. "Can't wait. I'm sure you and Sarah have cooked up something special."
As if on cue, Sarah coos softly, making Niall chuckle. "See? She's in on it too."
