Danielle's Point Of  View

Tomorrow isn't just Christmas Eve; it's also the day we celebrate two very special occasions: the birthday of the love of my life, my husband Louis, who is turning 29, and our second son William, who is turning two. Right now, Louis is on tour for his first solo album, Walls. He won't be home until after midnight, when our children are asleep. I can't wait for them to see him in the morning when they wake up

William is spending the day   with my parents for their "Grandparent and Grandson Day," a special tradition they have for all their grandchildren. Today was William's turn, and I know he's having a blast and he will come home around 3 Meanwhile, our youngest, Ashton, is upstairs in his room, taking his last nap of the day.

Freddie, our oldest, is in the living room with me. He's just four years old but will be five in just four weeks. We're dancing to some old One Direction songs, and I can't help but smile as he twirls around.

"Mummy when is Daddy coming home?" Freddie asks, his little brow furrowed in concern.

"He'll be here soon, buddy. Just a little longer," I reply, pulling him into a spin. "Remember, we're having a big party for him tomorrow!"

Freddie giggles. "Can we have cake? And balloons?"

"Of course! What kind of cake do you want?" I ask, playfully ruffling his hair.

"Chocolate! With lots of sprinkles!" he exclaims, his face lighting up with excitement.

"Chocolate it is! And we'll make sure there are extra sprinkles just for you," I say, trying to keep the cheer in the room as I miss my husband.

Just then, I hear a soft coo from upstairs. Ashton must be waking up. I look at Freddie and say, "Let's go check on your little brother. Maybe we can dance with him too."

"Okay!" he replies, his excitement bubbling over.

As we head up the stairs, I can't help but feel grateful for these moments, even when Louis is away. We'll celebrate together tomorrow, and I know it will be worth the wait.

As we reach the top of the stairs, I push open the door to Ashton's room, where the soft glow of the nightlight casts a warm, comforting light over his crib. He's sitting up, rubbing his eyes with tiny fists, and as soon as he sees me, a big smile breaks across his face.

"Mama!" he squeals, reaching for me.

"Hey there, sleepyhead," I say, scooping him up and cradling him in my arms. "Did you have a good nap?"

"Babababababa!" he babbles, his eyes sparkling with joy.

Freddie leans over, his voice filled with excitement. "Ashton, we're going to have a party for Daddy and William tomorrow! Want to dance?"

Ashton lets out a delighted giggle, and I set him down on the floor. He wobbles a bit before finding his footing, his chubby legs eager to join in the fun. Freddie takes his hand, leading him back into the living room, where the music still plays softly in the background.

We start dancing in a little circle, and I can't help but laugh at their uncoordinated but enthusiastic moves. "Look at you two! You're the best dancers I know!" I cheer, clapping my hands.

"Let's pretend we're at a concert!" Freddie suggests, throwing his arms in the air as if he's holding a microphone.

"Okay, I'll be the backup dancer!" I say, joining in on the fun and twirling around them. Ashton starts bouncing up and down, trying to imitate his big brother.
