Yashmin's POV
We made a pact back when we first built this place; that whenever we were here. We would be in our own natural forms; ghost form. Not the human side that held us captive.
My friends were naturalist and so was I.
And when I was with them. They didn't care if I was a vampire or a ghost. As long as I wasn't human.
I know this sounds like the beginning of another cult but we didn't hate humans. We loved them, however we spend most of our times pretending to be like them. Walking around in our skin.
"Thanks guys, I needed that", I said as I chuckled.
"This feel good huh", said Lilian.
"Hell yeah!, it's been a while since we get to just be in our ghost forms like this", said Lily.
"Ssssssh, someone is coming ", I said.
We stay quiet and waited. If it was some human they wouldn't be able to see us unless they were born special or baptized.
If it was another supernatural, depending on what they are, seeing us; could just as well be a challenge. So we stayed put. Waited to decide our next move. Would we be killers or quiet observers I thought as we waited to see.
"Hey guys, it's just us", said Mark.
"How did you guys get here so fast?", Lily asked.
"Something about unexplained weather disturbances inside School. You know how those things go", said Dew
"Hell yeah, we do!", shrieked Lilian as we all began laughing.
That evening was the best I had in a while.
There I was surrounded by the people I love. Everything was mostly ok. Despite my heart being broken.
I really thought we had chemistry. But this is life I guess. Now I know why he was so you do you and I'll do me until we are old enough.
"Let's go home guys, our parents are sure to get alerts from the school", I said to them.
"True, the last thing we need right now with our powers coming in, is for them to freak out and ground us", said Dew.
Back at home
"Hi mom, good evening!, how are you?", I asked as I step inside.
"Where have you been?", she asked.
"Oh just put for a bit with Dew and the rest of my friends, school was dismissed early but I needed some time to clear my head", I said.
"Ok", she said attempting to walk away.
"Mom", I said softly. "Is it true?", I asked.
I heard her heart began racing. I heard her swallow a lump within her throat before she spoke again.
"Yes Yash, turns out I am pregnant", she said, knowing exactly which question I required an answer to.
"Aren't you happy mom?", I asked her.
"Yes I am, indeed I am. But it's a long nine months ahead Yash. I don't know how I am going to do this", she said.
She looked at me worried as I bowed my head down, looking at my interlock fingers.
"You know you'll always be my special girl right and not because I am pregnant......means you will be replaced", she said.
"I know mom and don't worry we will all do the nine months together. The way we face everything as family. I love you mom."
"Thanks baby", she said. Then I made my way to my room. And she proceed to the kitchen.
.................................................................................
"Where have you been?", I heard he said as I walked into my room.
I looked up at him, in shock and disbelief.
"What are you doing here!", I said firmly.
"Aren't we friends anymore", he said with his voice laced with sarcasm. When I didn't answer he spoke again. "Look, I was just worried about you?", he said.
"You didn't seem worried when you were kissing my bestfriend", I said.
"Who Leona?", he asked. "Remember we made an agreement, we would see different people. I like Leona. She is a nice person", he said.
"So I am just expected to marry to my friend's left overs", I said.
"We are all somebody left overs. I thought you would be happy since you said I was a hypocrite."
We both stop talking as slience fill the gap between us both.
A loud crash then echoed from down stairs.
We quickly ran down.
"Mom!, where are you?"I shouted..............."What's happening?", said Maxwell.
We both ran into the kitchen. There she was wrestling with some form of creature. I knew not.
"Mom!", I screamed as I sped towards them. But they both vanished in a gust of black smoke.
"What, where are they?, Maxwell asked. Before I could answer, a loud tumble echoed from the living room.
We hurriedly made our way there.
Mom was on the ground and the creature was standing over her. I race towards the creature and attempted to kick its feet off the floor. But once again it turned into black smoke and then solid form.
"How are we to fight something we can't touch", said Maxwell.
"Actually we can", said mom as she quicky transformed into ghost form. "Now it will be a fair fight", I heard her said.
I watched as my mom and the creature went face to face in physical combat. Each blow my mother threw, blocked. And each blow she threw, blocked. They were like two highly trained assassin with equal abilities. Her ability to changed and held her physical form in smoke was no longer an advantage.
I watched as my mom, pushed away the creature from herself. Open her mouth and screamed. The waves of her voice threw the creature into our wall and I saw it went through.
However no holes were left in the wall as valuable proof. This creature had the power to turn itself into smoke and it never hesitated to do so. Even more upsetting it choose to invade our homes. Who was this newly form threat I pondered.
I looked at mother as she transformed back into human form. But something about this transformation was different from all the other times. I had watch her done it before.
She looked up at me and then she spoke, "Yash, call your dad and Xena, I think it's happening again."
