I am on the outside looking in
I see all that I want to be
All that I can be flash before my eyes
So close to me and then as I step forward it seems to far away
Slipping through my finger tips like lace in the wind
To be more to be less to simply be
Is all I can ever hope for I stand at the glass
I will be forever on the outside looking in
Watching a world I could be part of go by
As I see the faces of people I know play their part
Like actors on the stage they say their lines and move as they are told
through the sands of time
through the sunshine rain and storm
I watch and I wait my time for it shall come
Till being the one on the outside looking in
Becomes the person I have been able to say farewell to
For there are many on the same path
Searching for a way to break out and become free
To escape their destiny from whence they came
I shall become the hunter the one that can break the chains
Who can watch the acts of life around me splinter away
Cover my eyes and heal me from within
One night to remember as it all fades away
There will be no difference the stage shall rise and then fall
Outside will look in as inside opens its eyes to the world outside
Tear it all to pieces and rip it all apart
Re-write the script and tear down the walls that contain the lies
Let there be no outside
Destroy all that is inside
Give it all to the world around us equal
Complete in the understanding that we can all be who we are
We can be all that the destiny laid out before us wishes us to be
