What happened to when I knew how to breathe without consuming this pain
When I knew what I could be was all that I already had started to be within
The child within me keeps me remembering that I am forever young
That I can be more than I ever dreamed when I was still an innocent
I have forgotten how to believe in more
I am a broken doll with fractured eyes
Blinded by confusion and pain tonight I will let my eyes close
In my dreams I will search for what makes me feel like I am whole
Take me there to place that brings me peace
Show me that I matter to someone
For at this moment in time I feel like a void
The things that make me smile are like dust on the wind
They have no meaning, no desire to me
I am nothing now
Just a broken and beaten down shadow
Ask me how I can be the person I thought I was
I will answer that I do not know the answer
For I have searched for it
Time and tide may go by slowly
I will be here waiting to find myself again
