How many years has it been since I last saw you smile
How long since I fell asleep in your arms
As the days weeks months and years roll into one it becomes too long
There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of you
Of the laugh that made me happy just by hearing it on the wind
The feel of your arms around me as I slept at night
How long has it been since I heard you say I love you
I say it to you every morning and every night
You were gone from me too soon and my heart died
I never dreamed I would lose you that we would be given forever
Yet here I am with just memories of you
Of long rides and the smell of fuel and leather
The dancing in the dark when we knew we were alone
Just you me and the starlight
Now my love my sweet love you're one of the stars that shines down on me
One day when my time comes I shall be sparkling by your side
Till then I will love you with every breath and remember you with every heart beat.
