Appointment

Lucy's alarm woke her at 7am, she grabbed her phone off her nightstand and scrolled through her notifications. She opened a message from Bailey.

Bailey
Hey Luce, just wondered if u wanted to pop to the shops today? Maybe we could look at baby clothes!

This made Lucy feel even worse about the doctor's appointment later today, she could not tell Bailey what she was thinking of doing. Bailey had been trying for so long to get pregnant, Lucy knew she wouldn't be happy.

Lucy got out of bed and quickly jumped in the shower, washing her hair. She tried to avoid looking at her bump. She was now even more aware of it since opening up about her feelings towards being a mother.

After her shower Lucy dried her hair and applied some light makeup; she picked out an outfit consisting of skinny blue jeans and a knit jumper. She paired her outfit with her tan boots.

Soon enough it was 8 o clock. Tim knocked at the door awaiting Lucy.

"Hey baby." Tim smiled. He knew Lucy would be feeling emotional as usual.

"Hey Tim."

"U ready?"

"Yeah I guess."

The two got into Tim's truck, Lucy wasn't sure what to say to fill the silence so they just sat in their own thoughts.

The drive wasn't long, only around a quarter of an hour. As they pulled into the car park Lucy came to her senses of what they were here for.

They walked in hand in hand straight to the maternity ward. Lucy couldn't help but think about baileys message. Almost straight away the doctor called them into their office.

"Good morning Mr and Mrs Chen." The doctor smiled.

"Oh we aren't married." Lucy said uncomfortably.

"Ohh ok so partners?"

"Divorced slash partners it's kind of complicated." Tim replied lightheartedly. Lucy shot him a glare.

"Ok then. So how can I help u both?"

Lucy explained the whole situation, everything she had told Angela and Tim the night before.

"So I was wondering about termination?" Lucy said embarrassed. Tim noticed and held her hand.

"Lucy unfortunately that is not an option, you're too far along." The doctor said guilty.

"Oh..ok."

"Lu I'm sure there are other options."

"Yes you can place the baby into foster care once born or if u can find someone you would like to take the baby then that is also an option."

"Can we think about it please?" Lucy asked.

"Of course just drop me an email letting me know of ur choices."

Lucy and Tim left. Lucy's fear was obvious to Tim, she was biting her nails. They found their truck in the car park and went back to Angela's.

"Lu what u thinking?" Tim asked as they sat in the truck on the drive.

"Bailey.." Lucy looked up at Tim to see his reaction.

"That's a really sweet idea Luce, are u sure that's what u want?"

"I think so, but I need to talk to Angela before setting anything in stone."

"Alright Lu, I'll see u soon alright?"

"Bye baby," Lucy responded, kissing Tim on the cheek

Lucy unlocked the front door expecting an empty house, she was confused to see Willow sat with Wesley on the couch.

"Oh hey guys, didn't know u were home." Lucy said.

"Willow was still feeling a bit sicky so we decided to have a movie day." Wesley replied.

"Aww that's sweet, I think I'm going to head to the station to catch up on some paperwork." Lucy said as she grabbed her bag for work.

"Bye bye Lulu !" Willow yelled.

"Bye darling love u!" Lucy shouted as she shut the door behind her.

Lucy walked into the station and made a beeline for Angela's desk hoping she would be there. Crap, she wasn't.

"Lucy ? Are u ok?" A voice said from behind. Lucy spun around to see Nyla.

"Oh hey Nyla, I was just looking for Ange." Lucy smiled.

"She's just gone to speak to Grey about something."

"Oh right, I'll just wait here for her then."

"Lucy I can't keep a secret, Angela told me about last night." Nyla said her face plastered with guilt.

"Why the hell would she do that?" Lucy was so angry.

"Lucy she just asked me for a bit of advice and was wondering if u mentioned it to me while on shift." Nyla put an arm around Lucy.

"Oh.. ok then,"

"How was the appointment."

"It's too late," Lucy was fighting back tears. Just then Angela emerged.

"Lu has something happened why are u here?" Angela's face shower her concern.

"I'm fine Ange, just came to talk to u."

"U want to talk here or somewhere else?"

"Somewhere else."

Angela nodded and took Lucy to the break room, locking the door behind her. They sat on the couch.

"What happened then darling." Angela asked in a comforting tone.

Lucy told her everything about what the doctor said.

"So what u want to do?"

"U know Bailey and John have been trying.. I want to speak to Bailey." Lucy wasn't sure how Angela would react.

"Lucy that's so sweet of u, u just need to make sure that's what u want before talking to Bailey."

"Angela it's what I definitely want to do."

"Lucy I'm so proud of u."
