Birth

Lucy went back into the station, yet again trying to avoid Angela. She found Nyla who was stood with her stuff and her coat on.

"U finished?" Lucy asked confused.

"Yeah grey said I could leave now because I worked late yesterday."

"That's good then."

"Anyway what did u buy?" Nyla quizzed Lucy.

"I really wanted Cheetos but they didn't have any so I grabbed a drink but I finished it." Lucy made sure Nyla wouldn't see through her lies.

"What drink was that then?" Nyla was still suspicious.

"Cherry coke."

"Ok then. Let's get going, Angela said u can pop in and grab some stuff."

"Alright."

They got to Angela's, Lucy went into her room and Nyla followed. Lucy picked out some pyjamas and grabbed her toothbrush.

"That it?" Nyla asked

"Yeah, no other clothes fit me now so this will have to do."

"Didn't u buy maternity clothes?"

"I knew if I did I would have to accept the fact I'm pregnant so I didn't bother." Lucy mumbled.

"Oh ok." Nyla felt so bad, she had realised how many demons Lucy was battling.

"Anyway let's go."

Lucy sneaked a quick puff of her vape while walking behind Nyla to the car. Lucy knew that even though it wouldn't harm the baby Nyla would still get annoyed if she saw her.

On the way to Nyla's the two chatted about random things like the weather. That's when Nyla decided to ask Lucy a question.

"Lucy?" Nyla said hesitantly.

"Yes?"

"Have u thought about therapy?" Nyla knew it was a risky question.

"No." Lucy looked away from Nyla and stared out the window.

"Lucy you have been through so much in such a short period of time."

"It's not even that much."

"Lucy u got a divorce, your daughter is locked up, you lost custody of your daughter, you lost your home, you are pregnant, you have drunk and smoked more times than I can count and you have run away multiple times."

"Well when u say it like that.. ok it is bad."

"I think u should see someone Lu." Nyla suggested.

"Maybe."

When they got to Nyla's James answered the door. He was confused to see Lucy as well.

"Hey babe." Nyla gave him a kiss.

"Hi." Lucy smiled awkwardly.

"Hi Lucy, didn't know u was coming." He smiled back.

"It was a bit last minute, I can leave if it's any trouble."

James was sort of aware of Lucy's troubles.

"Lucy don't be silly come in." They both insisted.

Lucy walked in and put her stuff on the couch and sat down. Nyla and James sat on the sofa opposite.

"Is Lila here or at Donovan's tonight ?" Lucy tried to make small talk.
