Food Trucks

The walk to the food trucks wasn't too long, once they arrived willow immediately spotted her mum and ran over throwing herself at Angela who was sat at a bench with Nyla.

"Hey baby girl!" Angela said, her face lighting up at the sight of her daughter.

"Mommy!" Willow squealed.

"Lucy is everything ok?" Angela was worried, why had she brought willow here.

"Yeah, we just though we would meet you for some lunch."

"That's a lovely idea,"

"we were just about to go and order." Nyla added.

"Mommy, I would really really like chicken nuggets please," willow asked excitedly.

"Of course darling, Luce what do u want?"

"Um, I don't really know." Lucy responded.

"Ill pick something for u is that ok?" Angela said giving Lucy a reassuring smile.

"Ok I guess."

Lucy sat at the bench as the others went up to order. Lucy was not excited for whatever Angela would pick for her, she used to love the food from this place but recently it hasn't been tasting the same. She was sat deep in though when she felt a hand on her shoulder. It was Tim. He sat down next to her placing his food on the table.

"Lu are u ok?" Tim asked forcing a smile.

"Yep, u?" Lucy responded bluntly.

"Yeah, are u going to eat lunch? U need to Lucy." Tim persisted.

"Omg Tim! Angela is literally getting it now give me a break." Lucy snapped.

"Jeez my bad." Tim rolled his eyes and began to eat his food.

Shortly after Angela came back with a tray loaded with food. Lucy was scared, she trusted Angela would get something she might like.

"Oh hey Tim." Angela said as she sat down.

"Hey, what did u get Lucy?" He asked.

"Veggie burger and fries."

"Lucy make sure u eat it baby." Tim smiled at her.

Lucy cringed at him calling her baby. She knew they were supposed to be trying with this relationship but she clearly was not feeling that same way as Tim was. She felt awful, he was trying so hard to make sure she was doing alright but she hated it.

"I will." Lucy responded bluntly.

"Lucy, we were going to go for a weekend away did u want to come?" Nyla asked Lucy.

"Of course! That would be lovely, who's going?" Lucy beamed as she began to pick at her food, she realised these fries where pretty good.

"Me, Lila and then Angela , Wesley, Jack and Willow."

"That will be really nice! Thanks so much for the invite."

"Lu is ur food good?" Angela questioned, realising Lucy was only picking at it.

"Yeah it's really nice, thanks Ange."

"Of course darling."

Half an hour passed. They all sat chatting, well apart from Tim. He just sat awkwardly silent he had realised Lucy's face when he called her baby but he didn't mention it, not wanting to cause an issue. Lucy was halfway through her burger when she felt full up. She placed it down on her tray and began to wrap it back up.

"What are u doing?" Tim grunted.

"I'm finished?"

"No Lucy u need to eat."

"Tim, I have !"

"No no u need to eat properly!" Tim persisted.

Angela could tell Lucy was getting agitated.

"Tim, she said she's finished." Angela glared at Tim.

"Whatever, I'm going back on patrol." He stormed off to his shop.

"He does my head in, I know he cares but.. but I just don't feel that same way about him." Lucy's eyes filled with tears.

"Let's get back to the station Luce." Nyla put her arm round Lucy as they walked to the car.

Angela sat in the back with Willow asleep snuggled in her arms. Lucy glanced back and saw the two, she missed Tam so much right now. It had on,y been a few days since she visits Ed but she so desperately needed her to come home.

"Ange, what time do u get off work?" Lucy questioned.

"Like 5 today, only a few hours left."

"I might go visit Tam this evening, I miss her so much."

"Alright darling."

"When can she come home?" Nyla chipped in.

"We don't know yet, she's doing well but they don't want to release her too early and then be back at square one," Lucy responded.

"I'm sure it won't be too long then." Nyla smiled.

"Hopefully, I'm loosing my mind."

They got back to the station, willow had started to wake up.

"Lulu." She yawned as she opened her eyes.

"Wow, she wants u more than her own mother" Angela chuckled as she handed willow over.

"Who wouldn't prefer me." Lucy laughed.

The rest of the day rushed passed, it was now time for Angela to finish up.

"Ange I'm going to go call a taxi, I'll be back in a second." Lucy said.

"Luce I'll drop u there, I don't expect u to pay for a taxi."

"Are u sure?"

"Yeah, maybe we could come in with u?"

"I think Tam would love that."

"I'll give Wesley a call to let him know of the plan."
