"Seeing as the church moved its plans up due to our actions, I see it fit that we answer a few of your questions," the Platted Knight said, sitting at her desk with Daniel to her right and Kyrios to her left. You have three in total, so choose carefully."

"First," Carmen took a deep breath. "What is your plan moving forward?"

"I'm going to wipe out the church and kill Q'yth-Az."

"Second," Yu was next. "Does the White Bishop know what's happening in Xiatian?"

"No," she leaned on her hands. "After this morning's familiar left, all contact has been cut."

"I..." Sofitia mumbled. "I..."

"Questions do not have to be about Xiatian, but remember, this is your final chance to ask me anything."

"Back in Scandinavia, what happened?"

"I see. You haven't let that event go."

"How could I?! You burned it to ashes! If it weren't for Ophelia, we'd all be dead!"

"That is not the full story!" The Platted Knight raised her voice. "You do not know what happened then, so allow me to tell you. Scandinavia was home to an underworld deeper and darker than anything I could have imagined. Led by the god Feral Fenrir, it grew and overthrew Scandinavia's council. I was sent to dispose of them. However, the goddess Hel was being researched and broke free from containment and was being researched. In her frenzied state, she'd destroy Scandinavia, and I fought her. That battle is what scorched the land... I won't blame everything on her. That wouldn't be fair. My power burns through what's left of the ground after all. I'm merely telling you the story so you can form your own opinions."

"What happened to Hel?"

"I'm afraid you're out of questions. I'll let you stay in the guest rooms while I rest. Dealing with the rotting forest has proven impossible."

"Is that where you've been?"

"I told you: no more questions."

Daniel bowed to the group and opened the door for them. "I will guide you back to your rooms. Please do not pester her anymore."

"One more thing," the Platted Knight rose from her seat. "Do not attempt to enter any room with a lock on it. They'll open with my command seal and notify me if someone else tries to get in. A single notification and I will dump you all in front of the church."

Yu got a text on her phone and peeked at the notification. Manasseh, or perhaps Q'yth-Az, was asking where she was. She showed the Platted Knight, who told her to get out of the base. If the enforcers found it, they'd kill everyone inside. She grabbed a potion from her bag and drank it before leaving the premises through an emergency exit she had memorized. However, her memory was already getting fuzzy. The Platted Knight picked up the vial and had a small robot scan it. She had it disposed of and stared Carmen in the eyes. A concoction capable of erasing people's memories wasn't common in Xiatian, but it was in the Spider's Web.

Carmen swore she had no idea Yu was carrying a potion like that, though it made sense she did. If she knew something she didn't want the church to see, she could erase her memories and be as clueless as they. The Platted Knight hit the top of her head. That wasn't the question. Carmen rubbed her head. The only person she could think of with potion knowledge was Akko. And even then, he learned it from Vinnie in Rome. Just the name "Vinnie" made the Platted Knight wince. She was a Swords of Le Fae member who specialized in support magic.

The Crypter quickly left for her office to go through her records of the Spider's Webs, although, before she closed the door behind her, she asked for a meeting with Helena. The caster sporadically looked around and pointed at herself. In response, the Crypter turned and shut the door, leaving the group with Daniel, who shooed them to their room and grabbed Helena to separate her from them. And while Nero tried to get her back, his servant stood in her way. Kyrios closed the barrier between them and locked it. He wouldn't let them interfere with the Platted Knight's plans.
