"I have my gun," he revealed the weapon in his jacket. "Back to the topic, I know the killer is a demon. When he looked at me, I saw his fuchsia glowing eyes. Those are the tell-tale signs of a demon."

"So Manasseh wasn't lying," Galatea remarked. "I have some information you might like then."

Galatea set a report on the table. During Carmen's performance, she snuck into the castle undetected and stole it. She opened it to the page she marked and showed them that the council was trying to track the demon and kill it secretly. They needed Yang as a scapegoat for her friend's deaths while they pretended there was no demon. As for him, his name was Aurva. He was an enemy of Krishna and threatened to destroy India until the people begged him not to. He was ancient, powerful enough to level a city in a night. Why he was in Xiatian was the biggest mystery.

Abhimanyu remembered the stories of Aurva. He was born in a time of war when King Kritavirya's family was slaughtering the people. The old king's death led them to become poor, and they begged the priests for money. When the nobles declined and hid the money, the family began to kill each one of them. Aurva was born in the church and raised as a priest. However, watching his family be killed for their money angered him. Li Mao shared some records of Aurva that the other investigators got. He entered when Oberon's curse killed the crowned prince, opening the border for a short time. It closed behind him when Zuriel took the throne, and he survived the purge of demons native to Xiatian. Zuriel wanted them all gone because they went against his ideal of perfection. So, having a demon in the country reflected poorly on him.

Aurva remained hidden until he killed Yang's group, likely because they knew the truth. And since Yang would figure it out instantly, he wanted her dead next. He hadn't made a move since she was surrounded by the underworld, who had weapons that could kill him, but seeing her again made him bare his claws. As she and Li Mao were his targets, Galatea offered to act as a bodyguard. It was her job when she was in the Greek council. Even if Li Mao was a private investigator, he needed someone to protect him while he acted as an idol. If he pulled a gun out, he'd be suspicious, and that was enough for the enforcers to kill him.

Van Gogh had returned to the underworld since they needed her for testing the new anti-god weapons. Leaving Galatea to default to her station as a guard.
