"Your holiness?" Sara said, peeking into the office.
"Come in and close the door."
"As you wish," she did as she was told and kneeled to the god of crystals.
"You failed to destroy Chaldea and the Platted Knight, you lost Yu Mei Ren as a pawn, and now the underworld has control of the outsider's town. What do you have to say for yourself?"
"Please forgive me, Your Holiness. I'll do anything to make it up to you! I promise! I'll give you everything I have! You can take whatever you want! So, please! Let me be useful to you again!"
The god touched her face and slid his fingers down her cheek, "I have a special mission for you, then. Bring Chaldea's support to me. The two are the backbone of Chaldea's success and final weapons in a battle. Do that, and I'll forgive you."
"As you wish! I won't fail you!"
"Good, because otherwise," he paused for a second. "You will be expelled from the church."
Galatea stood outside with Yang while the others sat on a bench. She held her rod up and went to attack the caster. Yang dodged it quickly, almost too fast for Galatea to see her move. She had a ball of light in her hand, tossed it on the ground, blinding Galatea, and got behind the berserker. She placed a hand on Galatea's back, and the battle ended. The group was unimpressed. The fight was too short, and Yang's light made it hard for them to see what happened. They wanted her to keep it low in the next round so they could see her fight.
She was against Nero next and held back on using her magic. Instead, she focused on dodging attacks and reaching Nero's back. She had trouble, though, as Nero didn't let her near. Her speed alone wasn't enough to get behind Nero, and she used a spark to blind only Nero and touched the saber's back. The fight was longer, but the others thought she could've done more than jump around Nero's sword.
The final person was Van Gogh, and they set rules. Van Gogh couldn't use Vulthoom or thorny vines, and Yang couldn't blind Van Gogh. The two agreed and began to spar. Yang dashed for Van Gogh, thinking her target was the easiest of Chaldea. But she was caught off guard when the foreigner painted vines by the time she got close, and they held her still. She used her light to cut through them and created a swirl of swords to counter the flowers Van Gogh painted. Somehow, the two were on equal footing. Neither could get close to the other. Yang eventually created a stage of lights, and Van Gogh had a garden prepared for them to clash.
Before they did, someone snapped their fingers, and both of their presentations turned into mana that went inside a book. It was Helena. She had news about Yu's state and wanted the others to hear. Yu's mental state was improving, and with Molay's special metal, they countered Q'yth-Az's crest. The problem was Sara al Kali's crest in front of it, so they couldn't remove it. Their only option was to force Sara to remove it or kill her. Yang shivered when Helena said Sara was one of the strongest members. Killing her was no easy feat.
They were lucky enough to have someone on their side who knew Sara. Olivia stood with Alisa. She had orders from the Platted Knight to fight Sara and fake her death, so she was willing to help Chaldea. She even had a plan that involved Yang. She put her arm around the fellow caster and held a ball of water magic in her hand. She whispered for Yang to do the same with light magic and instantly combined the two. Yang grabbed her before it blew up and held her to the ground when it exploded. Akko slammed open the door when he heard it and dragged the two into his office to check on them.
Alisha put it shortly: Yang was a magic alchemist. She studied how magic worked and what happened when two elements were combined. As they saw, the elements exploded. However, that wasn't the case for every combination. Alisha showed them a chart from when she and Yang tested their theories. As great as it was to have the chart, Helena said it was too dangerous. The measurements had to be perfect, or it would kill them all in the blast.
