A glassy floor in a dark room. Carmen almost forgot what it was like going into her dreams. The mirror was gone, but it left the portrait of Zuriel for her to investigate. She touched it, and the scene changed to the day of the tragedy that killed the royal family. Zuriel placed his hand on the windowsill as Matthew approached him. As the last living member of the le Martel family, it was his duty to become king and rule Xiatian. He threw a glass at Matthew, but the ruler caught it. Such behavior was unbecoming of the future king.

Zuriel ignored the ruler's words. He looked at the picture of his brother and threw it on the floor, shattering it. Oberon's plan to expose the church's secrets destroyed the royal family. And as expected from Philip, he took no responsibility for their deaths, blaming it all on Oberon. Zuriel took the royal scepter and held it to the light. It shone brightly until the gemstone turned black. He hurled it on the ground, breaking it and releasing the energy inside. The two were surprised to see the Goddess of Natural Cycles emerging from the ashes.

Azhorra-Tha raised her hand and pointed at the king. She asked if he sought to form a contract with her. She could give him the power to become a true king in return for his soul. Matthew detested the idea, for a king to give his soul to an evil god was a breach of the contract between him and the holy goddess. Not only that, but he couldn't be reincarnated either. Zuriel didn't budge. He didn't care what happened to him. He lost everything because of Oberon. His soul meant nothing to him.

A banging woke Carmen up as Yang and Abhimanyu blew up breakfast. She dragged herself out of bed and to the kitchen. Akko was up and had the two in a chokehold. He was sick and not having fun with the kids. He let them go when Carmen entered and returned to his room. She looked at the frying pan and saw the burnt eggs with the bacon on fire. She wondered how that even happened, and Yang explained that they wanted to try her magic alchemy with the food. She wanted to know if using fire magic and lightning could cook the eggs faster.

Yu got behind the girl and karate chopped her shoulder. That had to be the dumbest line of thought she had. She went to the table and sat with Abhimanyu while the adults took care of the cooking.

"Looks like you pissed off Yu," Carmen said as she sat with the two.

"It sounded like a good idea," Yang sighed.

"I think you should take lessons before you try again."

"Oh, hey. We were talking about it last night. Abhi said that you can sing."

"I did a little work for my dad in his casino."

"Can you sing something?"

"I don't... know."

"Sing anything you want!" Yang said, holding a pen and a piece of paper. "It doesn't matter what it is, we're just testing how we do."

"Fine," Carmen murmured and started humming. "Do you believe there is a reason to live? That can forgive the actions they call sin. Carve in your heart the names of those chosen. Those who faced punishment. By their graves we have wept."

"That's deep."

"It's something I thought of while thinking about what this journey has taught me."

"I get that. Hm, usually idol groups have three members. How about Yu?"

"Ahem," Yu said. "Why did I get pulled into this mess?"

"Because you are a Chinese princess! And I read that you can sing and dance." Yang held her hands up to form a square with her fingers.

"I'm going to kill you."

"Kill me after the first show."

"Wait, WAIT. Are we doing a show? At a wedding?!"
