"Miss Carmen, what is your goal?" Syne asked.
"In coming to the labyrinth?" Carmen wondered.
"In defeating the kings."
"The people of the realms are suffering-"
"Don't give me that. Why do YOU want to defeat the kings?"
"I want to know about this world, and why I was called here."
Syne sighed. "A journey of finding yourself, huh? I can't say I blame you."
"Are you looking for something as well?" Carmen tilted her head.
"I was summoned without any memories of my past. Even my name is fake."
"How are you able to use a noble phantasm?" Yang pondered.
"I'm not sure," Syne said, holding her flag. "I called its name based on muscle memory."
"Okay, what is its name?"
"Conqueror of Worlds, Aldrich al das Kernstück. The hanging seat of the gods."
Yang stared at Syne. "Yeah, no. I have no idea."
The cold finally subsided as Chaldea and Syne's group continued on their journey. Their first goal was to figure out the pretender's name. Marcy remembered that she had talked about being in a city for thousands of years, so maybe she was a god. Then Syne remembered something: the pretender didn't have a physical form before she mimicked Marcy. It was as if she had never had a body before. And there was only one species Syne could think of that did that. Spirits. Those born in a spirit kingdom, like Yu, had a physical form, but those born wandering the earth were like the wind. If only Yu were there to help.
The best way to know more about the pretender was to fight her again. Yang scanned the area to discover that the pretender was hiding deep in the cemetery. Marcy shivered at the idea of going there. She slightly remembered being in a hall of mirrors where ghosts attacked her, and she ran behind Syne for protection. Tai also didn't seem happy with the idea of being in a room full of the undead. As a doctor, they were a person who tried to save lives. Sola was the only one in the group who didn't care. She followed Yang's lead to the graveyard and checked the stones. The names of both groups were on it.
The pretender was letting them know that they weren't welcome in the labyrinth. Syne took the stone with her name on it and threw it. She wasn't having it. She raised her flag, summoning her noble phantasm that caught the attention of the pretender. The servant kicked her to stop the energy from gathering, and she used the end of the flagpole to stop herself from getting too far. She blocked another attack and waited for Cleopatra to constrict the pretender as Mitra punched the servant. As they fought, Marcy watched the pretender. She finally realized who they were fighting.
Meizhou, the City of the Water. Marcy pointed at the buildings that the pretender summoned. Each one was from the Hakka district of China, but the specific one she saw was from Meizhou. It wasn't uncommon for major cities to have spirits in them, as they were highly regarded. The pretender responded by going after Marcy, proving the mage was right about her identity. Tai protected their master, creating a tornado of fire with Cleopatra adding wind to the mix. The two forced Meizhou away from the battlefield, and she hit Carmen's shield. The master opened the metallic shield and slammed it closed, breaking Meizhou's body.
The pretender remade her body. She was getting annoyed. She raised her hand, summoning the water to drown the fighters. Without a way to counter the attack, Chaldea relied on defeating Meizhou before the water level rose too high. Meanwhile, Syne and her group focused on supporting them. Syne released her first Noble Phantasm, spreading a light on the battlefield that surrounded the weapons. Carmen slammed her shield on Meizhou, and while it felt lighter, it hit the pretender hard enough to break the servant's arm. Mitra also went in, hitting Meizhou and destroying her other arm. As she regenerated, Helena kicked her.
